"I was a king under your control.
I want to feel like you've let me go,
So let me go."

December, 2nd

"Dad, we weren't going to- Yeah I know, but me and Robin-We aren't coming back home for Christmas this year." Perry sat on his unmade bed.

There was a muffled reply.

"She'd tell you herself but she's busy at the moment. She doesn't want to come home, and to be honest I don't fancy argueing with her at this time of the month."

Perry sighed. "Look. She's having a rough time. Get off her back, Dad. I'll talk to you later-" He flipped her phone shut and effectively hung up his father.

The bedroom door opened and Oliver strolled in with his usual air of authority and confidence. It was just the way he held himself that made Perry's skin itch in uneasiness.

"Good afternoon." Perry announced, while preparing to leave.

"To you too. Actually I'd like to take to you about something, Calzone, if I may?"

Perry sat back down, "What about?"

"Robin." He didn't like the way he said his sister's name. The way he said it was too familiar for his liking.

"Robin, as in my twin sister?"

"Of course, what other Robin would I be referring to?" He asked rhetorically.

"Okay...Well what about her?"

There was an audible pause.

"I was only going to ask whether or not she would be returning to your parents for the midterm break. No need to get hostile, Calzone. I wasn't about to ask for her hand in marriage." He laughed lightly at Perry's indignant expression.

"Why do you even care?" He asked.

Oliver looked him in the eye. "I don't know."

Perry spluttered at the unexpected turn of events, because he had been positive that Oliver would've denied having any feelings for his sister, to his face.

"Wh-What?!"

Oliver sighed. "This was a bad idea." He muttered quietly.

"Nevermind. I admitted nothing. I was mere curious as to whether or not it would be wise to-Nevermind. Calzone." And he left again with the masculine grace that took years to perfect.

Perry was startled. Not that somebody had taken an interest in his sister, but because it was Oliver. He never showed an interest for anything but his books.

Maybe they were right for eachother though, because Robin seemed to be like that more and more recently.

December, 4th

"Hey Robin." Perry knocked softly on her door after dinner.

She opened it almost immediately, "Yeah?" Her eyes were red and swollen. "Woah, who'd you get into a fight with?" He joked playfully.

She glared at him angrily and made to close the door on him. "I'm sorry. Look-No more jokes. I get it." He swiftly got past her and lay down on her bed.

She joined him and lay down, staring at the ceiling. She didn't need to ask why he was there, his presence was always welcome.

A comfortable silence greeted them like an old friend.

"Do you miss our parents?" He asked her. Perry turned his face to the right to get a closer look at her. Her cheeks were puffy, too.

She had been crying, he thought.

"Not as much as I thought I would, to be honest, it's kind of refreshing." That was unexpected.

"You know what, me too." She grinned somewhat half-heartedly.

"What's wrong." He reached out for her hand. "Nothing. I just- School work and pressure of getting my presentation ready. You know we have to do half and hour in front of the entire class." Robin rolled her eyes as she said it.

He said in a teasing tone, "And who in their right mind would want to do that, right?"

She laughed a real laugh then. "No one."

It was a relief to hear her laugh again, he had missed it once he started dating Madaelyn. He had never expected a relationship to take up so much of his time.

"I told Dad that we weren't going back."

"Thanks." She squeezed his hand.

"No problem, kiddo. Anything for you." He leaned his head on her shoulder as she played with his hair with her other hand.

It was nice to have their twin time again. He missed it dearly.
