41: His And Our Summer

"IT'S SUMMERTIME BITCHES!"

Sammy shouts out of his Jeep Rover, waving his arm and beeping his car horn.

"Oh my, you're so dramatic", Nico says, hopping out of Sam's car.

This week was the week after my sophomore year. It had gone by quicker than I thought and we were getting ready to head on the plane to Cancun.

Theo had been going to physical therapy and could now properly walk without his crutches.

"Alright people, come on, the plane leaves in 2 hours", Hazel calls from inside her parents' house.

"I can't wait to spend the summer with you", Theo says, his arm wrapping around me and I smile.

"Oh yeah, what are we going to do", I whisper, turning to see him.

"Well first, I'm going to take you on a proper date. I can't tell you the details of that yet. Then, if you're ready, me and you and the bedroom."

I raise my eyebrows at him and he chuckles, "This is what you have planned for the entire summer?"

"Yup, I figured who really needs to explore a new place when I can explore you."

"You are so dirty!"

"Yeah but you love it."

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen to Cancun, Mexico. We hope you enjoyed your flight and will have a fun vacation!"

"Isaiah, wake up. We've reached", poor Isaiah had fallen asleep on my shoulder, apparently Hazel kept him up all night making sure that everything was packed. 

He had convinced her that she should stay in the aisle with her brothers while he was sitting with us.

"Babe, you slept through the whole flight, it was beautiful", Hazel says as he rubs his eyes and I chuckle.

"Hazel, I can see it on the way back", she didn't seem impressed with his answer but helped him out of the seat.

We all grabbed our carry-ons and headed off the plane, next stop was our baggage and rental cars.

"Okay guys, so after we settle in, I'm supposed to meet with a woman named Kayla. She's Mr. Newman's daughter and is going to give me a tour of the hotel for the pictures. She also agreed to show us around to some local spots over the weeks."

Nico informs us as we head out of the airport.

"You didn't mention this Kayla before, have you met her," Sam asks and Nico narrows his eyes at him.

Sam was always trying to hook Nico up with someone, always telling him that it's not like he's getting any younger. 

Being a traveling photographer at 27 wasn't making it easy for him to find relationships though. 

Many women asked if Nico would ever stay in one place and settle but with his job, different projects called him to travel, to pick up and left at a moment's notice. 

"Well, we talked over the phone and sent emails, she seems nice, but don't get any ideas, Sam. This is business, I know what you're up to."

Sam chuckles, slinging his arm over his brother, "Me? I'm completely innocent. I was just wondering if I should trust this Kayla to take me around an area I've never been to. Maybe if you met her previously I would get an idea of who she is, that's all."

"Whatever, you'll meet her when I do, now get off of me."
