"You know, I think she's really going to like it."

"Yes, Pete. Now go put the blinds up." Micky sighed and rolled his eyes.

"Fine...."

Peter picked up the blinds and walked over to the window. "He always says that," he muttered.

"Now, Davy, help me do this thing and we're done. I can't believe we waited until--"

There was a sound of crashing and struggling.

"Pete, what happened now?!"

"Well.... I was putting up the blinds-"

"Pete, we can see that...."

"How much more time do you need?" Mike asked quietly, peeking through the door.

"We would've been done if Pete hadn't gotten tangled up in the blinds......"

"I'm sorry, I told you I was putting up the blinds when-"

"Look, nothing's gonna be done by arguing. Come on, get Pete out of the blinds and finish up," Mike interrupted.

As she kept on drawing, she would steal a glance up at Mike who was pacing the kitchen. He never did notice. Whenever she would be near him, she got even more nervous than before. It's like she had a crush on him or something.

Mike strolled into the kitchen, and the rest were in that room

."We should've had this done earlier," he quietly muttered. "But it isn't our fault," he reassured himself and took a deep breath. He knocked on the door and opened it. "Is everything ready?" he asked.

"Yeah, we got Pete untangled from the blinds and everything else went smoothly," Micky replied. Mike sighed with relief.

The boys came out silently, one by one, into the kitchen. "And remember, Pete, we don't need to mention anything about anything, okay?" Davy whispered to Pete.

"Got it, which one of us will tell her?" he replied.

"I think Mike should."

Without hesitation, Mike went over to Jean. Micky, Davy, and Peter stayed in the kitchen and watched.

"Uh, Jean?" he asked.

"Yes?"

"Jean, we, uh, want to show you something."

Mike slowly wheeled her through the kitchen. He made sure to push in chairs and whatnot to make sure she could get through. When they got to the others, he stopped and said, " Since you're staying with us, we wanted to make sure you were comfortable," and opened the door.

"Wow!" exclaimed Jean. "Guys, you didn't have to do this, thanks so much!" She hugged all of them and, then, blushed a little.

"Oh, no problem," Micky said as she hugged him. Jean felt slightly embarrassed.

She closed the blinds to take a look at the bandages. There was one around her right shoulder, which was probably black and purple now. Black and blue bruises covered her arms. She could just imagine what her legs looked like if she took the casts off. A tear streaked down her face, but she wiped it away. "Not now. Now's not the time to cry," she told herself.
