ch. 16: Twins

Time skip

Steve and Tony were married for three years. They functioned as one. It's true they argued sometimes but it was nothing big.

"I have to talk with you." Steve said while they were eating lunch.

"Oh no, you sounded like this when you told me you're going to war." Tony was a little scared.

"No, no it's not that." Steve smiled a little. "I want baby." Steve said and Tony started coughing like food stuck in his throat. "Are you fine?" Steve said giving him a glass of water.

"Yeah, uhm, I'm fine." Tony said when he drank water.

"Look Tony," Steve take Tony's hand in his, "I know you have bad childhood memories, but I also know you would be an awesome father."

"I can't promise you anything, but I'll think of it, okay?" Tony asked.

"Okay." Steve said. He always wanted to be a father.

Two weeks later

"Let's pick up some groceries." Steve said.

"Now?" Tony asked.

"Yes or we'll have nothing for breakfast. And we have to buy food for Donna."

"But I borrowed car to Natasha and other isn't done yet."

"We'll go by subway."

And as they went on subway they had to wait. Then they heard baby crying near them.

"Where is that coming from?" Tony asked.

"There." Steve looked at blanket on the bench.

They run to see two newborn crying and probably starving babies.

"God, who can left babies at subway?" Tony asked retorical and desperate as he pick up one baby and Steve other.

"What should we do?" Steve asked.

"Maybe we can take them home and tomorrow we'll call Fury to investigate what happened." Tony suggested.

"Okay." Steve accepted.

They buy milk and diapers and what else baby needs and soon as they came home Tony lay them on couch and Steve went to warm milk.

"Here." Steve give to Tony one bottle of milk. Both took one baby and feed them.

"They stop crying." Tony said.

"Yeah, they were hungry. How someone can do that? They're helpless little creatures." Steve said as baby boy in his hands fall asleep so he take him in room.

His twin brother was still awaken in Tony's arms. He touches Tony's beard and mouth. "You won't sleep, ha?" Tony asked. Baby boy then look at his arc reactor and how it lights. He touches it with his tiny fingers and smile. Tony kiss baby's forehead and went to the room but saw Steve looking at them from the door adoringly.

"What?" Tony asked.

"Nothing. You just look cute with a baby." Steve said and Tony secretly smile when Steve wasn't watching.

Tony put on his sleeping clothes and lay on Steve's chest. "Are you asleep?" Tony asked silently.

"No." Steve said.

"We should call Fury." Tony said.

"We'll call him tomorrow, okay? We'll be fine until then." Steve said.

"Sure." Tony kiss him good night kiss and both fall asleep.

Morning
