I sighed as I rolled my eyes. Caleniel stood in front of me, touching flowers tenderly.
I walked closer to her. "I am sorry for what I said earlier."
Caleniel turned to me with wide eyes. She smiled and bowed in her white dress. "It is me who should be apologising."
I raised a brow. "Then why haven't you? You're usually one to apologize quickly after you believe you've done wrong."
Caleniel looked down and smiled. "I thought you had enough of Elves for one day. For a week, really."
I smiled nodding. "Yeah, well, we're going on another adventure together, so I'm going to have to deal with you." I tried not to roll my eyes. "And another Elf."
Caleniel gently smiled at me. "We are not all the same. Every species has a general outlook of them, like the humans back in your land. In your stories, you mentioned that you had ideas about them as a group, but as your stories went along, you told us how unique each one of them really was."
I paused. "I do recall thinking that. We were all the same, but we were all different. I guess I just thought I was different in particular."
Caleniel placed a hand on my shouler. "Then perhaps you can think the same way with Elves."
I smiled at Caleniel and punched her stomach.
She laughed as she winced.
I laughed. "We are friends, not sisters."
"I wouldn't have it any other way." She stood up straight. "Besides, you wouldn't want to be an Elf."
"Of course not."
She turned back to her flowers. "And that is entirely not your choice. However, it is because of the magic I found for you that you are still here."
I looked away. "I know. I'm reminded of that every time I breathe."
"How's Aragorn?"
"Caleniel."
"What?" She turned.
I looked round. "All of Middle-Earth does not need to know my business."
She smiled. "I didn't ask a very detailed question."
"My point stands!"
We froze as we heard someone walking through.
Aragorn appeared from behind a tree. "Good afternoon."
Caleniel smiled. "That it is. Thank you. Aragorn, I was wondering if you could teach Bre how to wield her sword properly."
"What?" I scolded her.
Aragorn let out a small laugh. "Perhaps along our journey. I'm afraid I'm in no mood for that right now." He smiled at me and bowed slightly. "Just wanted to say hello as I passed through."
I nodded. "Thank you for your thoughtfulness."
He walked past a few trees and was gone.
I scolded Caleniel again. "Are you joking me?"
Caleniel smiled at me. "You refuse to take any lessons from me, so I thought you'd prefer them from someone you fancied."
I leaned back against a tree. "I can barely concentrate on what he's saying. Let alone, control how I breathe."
"That's just how it is at first."
I looked away with my arms crossed. "I just don't know how to feel about it. I think that's my real problem with it. Thorin just meant so much and now I'm having these feelings for Aragorn."
