CHAPTER 14

It took exactly 179 steps to get to the room. I was expecting it to be empty but it wasn't. Instead there was Teak, Reed and... Janey?

"What the hell is she doing here?" I said without thinking. Crap. I thought Janey would be angry but instead she looked guilty. She wouldn't look me in the eyes.

"No need to be rude about it," Angel snapped. She no longer seemed like a pretty angel, she was blackening like a demon every minute. And what hurt the most was that it seemed like everyone was so quickly put under Amanda’s spell.

"And why are you getting so defensive about it?" I snapped right back at her.

"Because, she's our friend! Something you wouldn't really know about." Did she just say that?

"I cannot believe you just said that." They all stared at me with accusing eyes. I think the pain in my chest was my heart breaking that was now fuelled by fire. "You know what? I don’t need this. You asked me to come here, and if you all are just going to gang up on me, then I rather leave!” I turned on my heels and walked out.

I took few steps out the door and I was yanked back. I turned around to see Reed in front of me.

"Let me go!" I said before yanking my elbow away, or trying to. He had a strong grip on my arm.

"No!"

"Why not? Just leave me alone!" Couldn't he let me mourn by myself? I needed to let it out of my system so that it wouldn’t feel like my heart was being ripped out of my chest every time I see him.

"No, not until you hear me out," he pleaded.

"Okay, then tell me. I don’t want to spend more time than necessary with people who just hate me."

"Firstly, I'm sorry. I really am. I really appreciate you trying to be nice to Amanda."

"I sense a secondly."

He laughed. "Yeah, well, don't leave. Please. I really do want to be friends with you again."

And that is how I got friend-zoned by the guy I was still in love with. I guess that's what I get for friend-zoning him first. Karma really is a b****

"Okay, I'll stay." I couldn't resist him. He was Reed after all. I would do anything he said. Except murder. I think.

He dragged me by the wrist, just in case I decided to make a run for it, and pulled me down next to him on the couch. Even though Amanda sat on the other side of him, that didn't stop her from sending me death glares. HA! In your face "Mandy".

We decided to watch the movie “Cry Wolf”, which prior to its name, had nothing to do with wolves. I was glad I stayed because I think I found my new favourite movie. Not to mention it had my all-time favourite Jared Padelecki in it.

Sometimes during the movies when it came to an intense part, Reed would poke me in the ribs which would cause me to jump up and scream. It was embarrassing, but worth it since it made Amanda jealous as hell. Oh, if looks could kill, my body would be perished.

When the movie was over I thought I could go back. I thought wrong. They wanted to watch another movie. Amanda wanted to watch Mean girls while I wanted to watch Ninja Assassin. Soon we started bickering.

"I want to watch Mean girls!" Amanda whined.

"Well you know what? You can't always get what you want Amanda."

"Well, actually I do," she stated. I mentally agreed with her.

"Well then I guess it’s time things change around here."
