"I'm glad the two of you have made up..." Vanessa's statement made me jump while Gregory stiffened. "Oops, sorry..." She said. "Didn't mean to scare you..." She had her hand above her mouth and yet, the entire scene sounded forced.

Gregory growled before brushing a sweet kiss on my lips and putting me back on my feet.

"What do you want?!" He grunted and I patted his chest.

"Be nice..." I muttered. He grabbed my hand and turned around to face his sister. He looked like a predator ready to go for the kill.

"N-nothing..." She shrank back.

"Did you take your pills, today?!" Gregory's anger seemed over the top.

She shook her head and her hazel eyes were suddenly glistening with unshed tears.

He groaned.

"You never learn, do you?!" He was trying to rein in his anger but it was still oozing out of him in waves. "What happened?!" He then barked and shrank even further, if that was possible. "You saw him?"

She bobbed her head up and down.

He growled.

"I can't believe it! What did he want?!"

"T-to apologize..." She said in a childish voice before she started sobbing uncontrollably.

"Where did you see him?!" His clenched hands told me they were talking about Victor but it didn't make sense.

She didn't answer.

"Don't tell me the f*cker came here?!" He growled and she shook her head tentatively. "I thought the two of you had spent the evening together!" He shouted.

"I was exhausted and went to bed early..." I answered, still not grasping what was happening. "Are you saying that Victor came here last night?" I had to ask because it didn't make sense.

They both stiffened at that, and after sharing a strange look together, she turned to me and gave me a small nod.

She reminded me of a lost little girl right then, and I couldn't help but wonder what those pills were for.

"What did he have to say?" I was curious.

"What is it to you?" She spat, her face filled with hatred.

What?! Her mood changes were hard to follow.

"Sorry..." I said to appease her. "I didn't mean to pry..."

Her eyes widened shortly and then her features softened.

"I'm sorry..." She mumbled and she ran away crying.

"F*ck!" Gregory yell-whispered.

"Is there anything I can do to help?" I offered. "Even if it is going for a ride to let the two of you sort things out..." I added.

"You need to stay with me." He growled. "Prevent me from taking my car and going to kill Victor..."

He sounded serious so I took his hand and muttered, "Ok..."

"I'm going to make sure she takes her pills..." His anger was hard to miss so I nodded.

"I'll just get started with my homework..." I muttered and I was about to ask him where I should go when he said,

"Just wait for me in my room. I won't be a minute..." He leaned down to kiss me, leaving me breathless.

As I slowly made my way up the first flight of stairs, I had to support myself on the railing to make sure my wobbly legs didn't give way under me.
