As I stumbled back in shock, I bumped into a hard chest and two hands grabbed my shoulders to help me keep my balance. They didn't let go however, so I could feel the warmth of his body through my top.
I'd be lying if I said that it didn't feel good to be held.
"F*ck..." Niall mumbled next to me, which meant that I was currently leaning against Don Big Head's chest.
No way! I thought as I shook myself free from his hold.
"Why are you fighting this?" I heard him mumble, clearly unsettled by the way I kept pushing him away.
Once again, I ignored him and got my phone out of my pocket.
I dialed 911 and after strange static noises assaulted my ears, I explained the situation to the lady who answered. She told me an officer would meet me in the school carpark within the next fifteen minutes but that I could already contact my insurance company for information on the procedure I'd have to follow.
After a tedious phone call with a grumpy and hard of hearing man, I was relieved to see a police car park next to us.
The officer took extensive notes and several pictures of the car and once he was done, he told me to come to the station the following day to sign the report he was going to type.
I let out a relieved sigh when the mechanic that came to tow my car assured me they would be able to repair the car for next Wednesday and that it'd be as good as new.
"You're awfully resourceful..." Milo commented from behind me as I watched the truck leave and I cringed. I thought they'd have left by now but no, the three boys were still there.
"And you're awfully cocky but you don't see me pointing it out, do you?" I replied coldly before starting what would be a long walk home.
"Where are you going?" He shouted at the same time Hugo cried out a pathetic, "Ali!?"
"How about you just f*ck off, Tanner?!" I heard Niall growl and the ghost of a smile appeared on my face.
"I knew you weren't completely immune to our power..." I jumped at Milo's voice. I hadn't noticed him walking next to me.
Exasperated, I stopped.
"Ok. What do you want?" I asked him.
"I want you to stop being so stubborn for a start. Niall didn't want to worry you but you're giving me no other choice..."
What was he talking about?
"The Black Devils are after you..." He went on, his eyes assessing me.
His answer was like a slap in my face as memories of my brother's lifeless body at the hospital started flashing in my mind.
"Now, she's listening..." He said in a singsong voice, which made me want to kill him.
"F*ck you!" I yell-whispered, unwilling to make a scene in front of the old lady who was waiting for a bus mere feet away.
"That's a date..." He shot back seriously, his raspy voice making my traitor of a stomach flip-flop. "But first we need to get you home so you can change into sexier clothes..."
Ugh! The guy was such a douche. I wanted nothing more than to strangle him but I had a more urgent problem at hand.
I turned around and spotted Niall getting in his car. He'd been about to start his car when he saw me speed-walking toward him angrily.
"Why did you want me to come tonight?!" I asked him with a clipped voice.
He seemed taken aback for a second but recovered quickly.
