Belle's POV
After dinner, the twins helped me up from the table and we followed Percy, who is a Prefect, all the way to the Gryffindor Tower. All through dinner, I was laughing and joking with the Weasley boys, and Harry. Hermione seemed to be a little left out. I felt bad, but I couldn't go talk to her because the twins wouldn't let me leave.
Another terrible thing from dinner. I realized Draco Malfoy was staring at me the entire time which was kind of creeping me out. I shuddered at the memory.
When we reached the tower, I saw a portrait of a fat lady who was fanning herself. I tilted my head.
Percy waved to the fat lady and said, "Mongoose Tails."
Fred leaned over and whispered, "That's the password to get in. Just in case you get left out with no one to protect you." He winked at me.
I rolled my eyes. When the portrait swung open, my eyes almost popped out of my head. The Gryffindor Common Room was absolutely gorgeous! The brick fireplace, the red satin chairs. The books! Okay, I was a huge reader, and it seemed like Hermione was too.
I pushed away from the twins and walked toward Hermione, who was admiring the bookshelves. "Hello."
She jumped and looked over at me. "Oh, hello. I'm Hermione." She held her hand out professionally and I smiled.
"Belle." I replied, shaking her hand. I looked at the books. "Amazing how many books there are just in the commons."
She nodded. "It's wonderful."
Percy started yelling so I decided to look. "Okay, girls dormitories are to the left, boys to the right. And to the boys who think they can sneak into the girls' dorms, I'm sorry but there is an enchantment that prevents that."
I smiled as I heard Fred and George groan. "Bloody hell, Percy. Do you think we can't get around that stupid 'protection spell'?"
Percy glared at his brothers. "You won't get in. Dumbledore himself created that protection spell."
Fred and George looked at each other. "Hasn't stopped us from trying before."
I couldn't help it. I snorted. "You two are bigger idiots than you look."
They looked at me, a grin on their face. "But we are your idiots now."
I rolled my eyes. "I didn't sign up for that job. You forced me to before I even knew you."
Fred and George faked hurt. Fred frowned at George. "You hear that, Georgie? She doesn't love us."
On the contrary, I have grown to love the two idiots and it was only our first day as friends. "You two are the biggest idiots ever."
Before I knew it, I was trapped in a hug. "Hey! Get off of me you big lugs!"
Fred laughed. "No can do, Belle!"
I glared at him. "You are squishing me!"
He shrugged. "Oh well."
Percy was rolling his eyes, sighing. "Okay, okay, everyone to their dorms."
Hermione grabbed my arm and pulled me from the twins who instantly started complaining. She dragged me up to the girls dorm, getting us our own room. "Here, we can stay in this room together!"
I smiled. "Okay!" Our stuff was already in here and I frowned at the other empty beds. "I like the privacy but it seems pretty empty."
Hermione nods. "Yeah, but I have never been one to make friends. People think I'm too bossy and smart-mouthed." She shrugged.
I walked over and hugged her. "Don't worry, Mione. I'm bad at making friends too. Harry is like my brother, Ron only tolerates me, and I'm not sure why those two idiot twins like me."
Hermione looks up at me. "It's because you're pretty, Belle."
I shook my head. "Hardly."
She sighs. "Belle, take a good look at yourself in the mirror. You are more beautiful than you think."
I hugged her once more before changing into my pajamas and climbing into bed, staring at the ceiling, unable to fall asleep.
