Belle's POV

       I woke up early to go to the owlry. I had to send a letter to my parents saying that I was coming home for Christmas and to ask if Harry could join us. I didn't want him to have to go back to the Dursleys and I didn't want him to spend Christmas alone.

       I found Ares half asleep so I gently prodded him awake. He screeched softly before I tied the letter to his leg and fed him a treat. "Take it to Mum."

       He took off and I walked back down the icy steps and toward the castle for breakfast. I was itching to go back to my home town and see my family. I had to check on August who was still in the hospital. It's been two months. I have stolen my letter back from Snape, thanks to the Marauder's Map, and now I am secretly writing to Ark to see what's wrong. Apparently August had a seizure and went into a coma. He hasn't woken up.

       As soon as I sat down, I piled my plate high with warm food. My face was rosy red from the cold, and the warm food in my mouth felt like a life saver.

Fred hugged me from the side. We had become best friends since a few weeks ago when we pulled a huge prank on Draco and the Slytherins.

Flashback:

"Okay, got the color spells?" Fred whispered, peeking around the corner. We were sitting outside the Slytherin common room.

I nodded, showing him the list of spells. He grinned and pulled out his wand. "Let's do this."

We stood as soon as the coast was clear and chanted the spell, changing the Slytherin colors from green and silver to maroon and yellow. When we saw it worked, we laughed and high-fived. I gasped and grabbed his hand, dragging him out of sight as Draco and his group walked through the entry way. A blinding light and their robes turned the colors of Gryffindor along with the rest of the room. I snorted and Fred threw his hand over my mouth.

I closed my eyes, my chest hurting from holding in the laugh. Fred pulled me out and down the hall, walking down the corridor all the way to the Gryffindor tower. As soon as we got inside, I burst out laughing, smiling as I noticed Fred was laughing too.

End of Flashback

That was our first prank as friends. Since then we got closer and became best friends. The three of us. George, Fred, and I.

I leaned against Fred's shoulder as he rubbed my arm, trying to warm me up. "Man, you freeze easily. You left for the owlry five minutes ago."

I playfully glared at him. "I'm a very delicate person. I adjust to temperatures very quickly. You know that!"

He laughs. "I know, but still. You feel like ice."

I shake my head with a smile. A few minutes later, Ares flew in and dropped a letter into my lap, and I fed him treat before he flew off.

I opened the letter and read through it. "Harry! You can stay with us over break!"

Harry grinned. "Yes!"

'...Update on August. He's still asleep, the doctors think it's our best bet to take him off of life support. It's our call, mi Bella. It's our call.'

I didn't realize I was crying until it was too late. Soon enough the whole Gryffindor table was looking at me, worry in their eyes.

Fred takes a hold of my arms, making me look at him. "Elle, what is it?" I smiled at the new and improved nickname.

"My brother." I whispered. His eyes widened and he stood up, pulling me with him.

"Let's go back to the common room." He said quietly.

I nodded. "Okay."

He grabbed my hand and led me out into the corridor and up to the tower where we sat by the fire and Fred summoned hot butter beer. I took a cautious sip. "Thank you, Freddie."

He wrapped one arm around me, pulling me close. I leaned my head onto his shoulder, a soft smile on my lips. I felt my eyes close as Fred whispered, "No, thank you, Belle Avalon Lily Black."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As soon as Christmas break rolled around, I was practically bouncing in excitement. Ron, Hermione, Harry, the twins, and I ran down the hill to Hagrid's hut. I knocked twice on the door and it opened with a squeak. Hagrid grinned down at us. "Ah, come to say goodbye before you leave for Christmas?" He let us in and I ran over to Fang, hugging the dog around his neck.
"I'm going to miss you Fangy!" I kissed his slobbery cheek and stood, running over and hugging Hagrid. "I'll miss you too, Hagrid. Thank you for everything."
Hagrid laughed and hugged me back. "I'll miss yeh as well, Miss Belle. Have a great break, and write." He turned to all of us. "All of yeh had better write to me all the time yeh get. I wanna hear about everything!"
We all nod and hug Hagrid again before running out, waving to him and climbing on to the train.
The six of us all sat down in a room on the train and I lean against the window, quickly falling asleep as the train pulls out of the station.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I woke up a few minutes before we pulled into the station. The last five minutes on the train, I spent it eating candy with my friends and laughing at jokes Fred and George came up with.

When we all got off the train, it was emotional for all of us, even though it was only a two week break.

I hugged Ron and Hermione for a long time, "I'm going to miss you guys!"

Hermione sniffles. "We all need to get together!"

I nodded. "We will. I promise, Mione." I hugged them both once more.

I ran into Fred and George's open arms, sniffling as tears roll down my cheeks. "You had better write to me every day! Otherwise I will make sure you hear from me!"

They laughed and pulled away from me as we all heard a shout. I turned around. "Molly!" I ran up and hugged her before bending down and hugging the little girl by her side. "Hello, Ginny. Are you excited for Christmas?"

Her arms wrapped around me as she nodded excitedly. "Yes I am!"

I laughed as I stood up, holding Ginny's hand. Molly was hugging all of the others as I stood with Ginny. After a few more minutes, the clock above the platform chimed noon. I turned to the group, tapping Harry's shoulder. "We have to go, but we will write! Have a great holiday Molly, Ginny!" I hugged the little girl again and kissed her cheek. "Talk to you soon, okay?" She nodded as I hugged her mom and took Harry's hand. "Okay, let's go."

I waved to everyone once more as we walked through the wall and into King's Cross station. I saw my mother and waved. She ran over and hugged me, tears in her eyes.

"Oh my baby! I've missed you. You have grown up so much since I saw you leave for school." She smiled and hugged Harry. "How have you been, dear?"

Harry smiled. "I've been great. Thank you for letting me stay with you all."

My mother shakes her head. "No trouble at all. Now let's get home. I'm sure you are dying to see everyone as much as they are dying to see you." She ushered us to the car, and once we were in, sped home.
