Belle's POV
As soon as we reached London, Hagrid parked in front of a bar called the Leaky Cauldron. Harry and I climbed out and Hagrid smiled at us, leading us in.
"Welcome to the Leaky Cauldron." Hagrid walked in and as soon as we made it inside, I was pushed out of the way as a line was formed in front of Harry.
I glared at the backs of the people in front of me. "Hey!" They ignored me.
"M-mr. P-p-potter. I'm v-v-very p-pleased t-to m-meet you." A man wearing a turban stuttered. "I'm P-professor Q-quirrell. Defense a-against the d-dark arts." He shook Harry's hand.
Hagrid was smiling. He hadn't noticed that I had fallen. I helped myself up and an older man narrowed his eyes at me. "And who are you?"
I glared at him. "Belle Black. Who are you?"
He didn't answer me, just stared at me, wide-eyed. "Hagrid, what is this girl doing here?"
Hagrid walked over. "She is attending Hogwarts."
The man shook his head, whispering. "Don't you think she will cause...trouble since she is his daughter?"
I frowned. "Whose daughter?"
Hagrid held out his hand as Harry walked over since everyone stopped shaking his hand. "Minister, I am not to talk about this in public. I'm sorry, but we have to go." He grabs me and I grab Harry's hand as Hagrid drags me out the door. He taps a few bricks on the wall and it opens, revealing a beautiful road filled with stores.
A wand shop, a cauldron shop, a candy shop, an ice cream shop, a bookshop, and an owlry! I gasped at the sights.
"Alright, Harry, Belle. Go get your wands. I'm going to stop into one of these other shops really quickly."
I nodded and took Harry's arm, leading him toward Ollivander's Wand Shop. We walked in and I noticed that we were alone. It was pretty dark so I dragged Harry up toward the desk. Suddenly a man stood up from behind the desk.
"How may I help you dearies?"
My heart was pounding from the shock but I spoke up. "Um, Mr. Harry Potter and I were wondering if we could get our wands."
The man smiled. "Ah, Mr. Potter and Miss Black. I have been expecting you two. How are you?"
Harry and I shared a look. "Fine." I answered warily.
He nods before pulling out two wands, handing one to each of us. Harry's wand exploded a lamp while my wand caught the curtains on fire. Ollivander was quick to take them away.
"So not dragon heartstring for either of you." He smiles. "I wonder..."
He handed Harry a wand and waited patiently. He swished the wand and a golden light penetrated from it. Ollivander smiled. "That's the one Mr. Potter, but it's curious."
Harry frowned, glancing at me. "W-what's curious, sir?"
Mr. Ollivander pointed to Harry's wand. "That wand's brother is the one that gave you that scar." He pointed to Harry's head.
Harry and I both gasped.
Mr. Ollivander shook his head. "But, back to you my dear." He handed me a silver wand with branch like things weaved around them. I held it up and, like with Harry, a golden glow emerged from it.
The man smiled. "I knew that wand would be yours."
I looked at him. "What do you mean?"
Ollivander only shook his head. "The wand chooses the witch, Miss Black."
As soon as we left the shop, we found Hagrid outside the owlry holding two cages. One held a snowy white owl and one held a pitch black owl with golden eyes. He handed the white owl to Harry and the black owl to me. "Happy birthday you two."
I smiled. "Thank you Hagrid! I'll name him Ares."
Harry looked thoughtful. "I'll name
her Hedwig."Hagrid nodded. "Good names. Now, let's get the rest of the items on your lists."
We nodded and walked through the streets. I think my favorite part was Gringotts and the broom shop, even though I couldn't get a broom since first years weren't allowed to have one.
