Siva's POV:
Max was holding a crying and squirming Nathan trying to calm him down. We were having a party at 4pm for Tom & Nathan, but Max & I's mums were coming earlier than the rest of our family to bring Nathan some diapers and formula.
The doorbell rang, and I ran to the door just as my mum pushed past me. She took a still crying Nathan out of Max's arms. Nathan stopped crying for a minute, but then realised he didn't know my mother, and stared at Max with wide eyes before crying again.
Bathroom? My mother asked Max.
Straight head & make a left. Max told her as Tom glared at her.
Why is that lady taking Nathan?!! Tom asked us wide eyed himself. He started to follow her, but Max stopped him.
Its ok bud. That's Papa's mum, your grandma. She's just changing Nathan's diaper so he'll be happy again. Max explained to Tom who nodded.
My mother returned a couple minutes later with a diaper she handed to me and a now once again crying Nathan to Max.
I threw the diaper away, and returned back in the living room where Nathan had stopped crying and Tom was asking my mother questions.
What should I call you? Tom asked her as she smiled.
You can call me Grandma K. My mother said.
Tom continued asking questions as the doorbell rang again. I went to answer it, and Ms. George was at the door carrying a bag.Hi, were are my new grandsons? She said as I invited her in.
Max is holding one & my mother is talking to the our other. I said pointing in their direction.
Who are you? Tom asked looking away from my mother to Max's mother.
I'm your other grandmother. Ms. George told him waving to Max & my mother.
Ok so your Grandma K and what do I call you? Tom asked.
Hmm... How about Nana? Ms. George told Tom who shook his head yes.
Can I hold you? Ms. George said giving her attention to Nathan who was still in Max's arms. Max gave her Nathan who did the same as he did with my mother, but this time looked at Tom as he cried.
Give me him. Tom demanded Ms. George.
Ms. George stared at Tom because she nor the rest of us expected him to be demanding. She though did give Tom Nathan. Tom sat on the floor with Nathan in his arms. Nathan stopped crying again, and snuggled closer to Tom.
Ms. George and my mom took pictures with cameras that magically appeared in their hands. Max and I sat together on the couch watching our mothers talk to Tom.
What's your name? My mother asked Tom.
Thomas, but I like Tom. Tom said.
And what's his name? How old are you two? Ms. George asked next.
This is Nathan, and he's 8 months old. I'm 5! Tom said for Nathan who peeked shyly at our mothers.
Can you talk, little one? My mother asked Nathan.
He's a baby? Of course he can't talk. I said confused why she'd ask that.
Well most 6-8 month year olds babble. My mother said.
Has he babbled yet? Ms. George asked.
I looked at Max who shook his head.
No. We haven't heard him yet. Tom did Nathan babble at the adoption center? I asked Tom.
No. He just crys when he's sad. Miss Julie and Miss Mary tried to make him laugh, but he never did. Tom said.
He'll learn. He's only 8 months. Max said as Nathan met my eyes. He reached for me, and I picked him up as Max picked up Tom.
Our mothers became paparazzi and took our pictures. Tom posed in Max's arms as Nathan squirmed not liking the noise. I walked back over to the couch as Max & Tom posed together for more pictures. Nathan stared at me, and I smiled down at him. I kissed his head and he smiled. Nathan's eyes began closing, and a couple seconds later he was asleep. Nathan and I seemed to have a connection even if we just met.
The doorbell rang with the rest of the family. Nathan didn't even move as Max answered the door.
