Europe

In Europe, Sapphire, Zandrilath, Ava, Kimash and Vanshai and their sections were fighting against swarms of Shahils.

Sapphire had been scratched three or four times but had no serious injuries for now.  She was facing three ennemies at a time, avoiding their swords and claws as swiftly as possible.  Her six swords were out, her tails facing the Shahils that were behind her and both her arms countering all the attacks her opponents attempted.  She killed each Shahil by beheading them.

She was continuing her beheading streak with ease until she felt sharp, metallic claws go down her back.  Screaming, she turned around, her eyes going red.  The Shahil was grinning a cruel smile: it's black and grey teeth showing, brownish green drool pouring out of it's mouth. Even though the Shahil was larger and clearly much stronger than her, Sapphire charged towards it, all her swords out.  The Shahil grinned even wider as Sapphire charged towards it, anticipating her attack.  As Sapphire aimed for it's heart, the Shahil, in a moment of surprising swiftness stabbed Sapphire in the stomach.  Sapphire, stumbled backwards, but, in an act of either bravery and determination, or out of pure despair, she attacked the Shahil again.  This time, she barely avoided it's blow to her right shoulder. She was now profusely bleeding. Still fighting, she made one last plunge to the Shahil's heart.  As she plunged, for the Shahil's heart, she felt something go through her heart.  As she fell to the ground, she saw the Shahil over her, a dagger in hand.  Before she could move, the Shahil stabbed her heart a second time.  That's when Sapphire died.

"Noooooooo!" screeched Kimash as he saw his leader fall.  He had already part of both ears cut off.  He was fighting as valiantly as he could, in spite of his injuries.  He made his way to the Shahil and fought with all his hatred.  He fired a blast fo light magic.  It almost killed the Shahil, but not quite.  It still managed to get back up: it was bent in half, but still managed to charge towards Kimash.   Kimash, caught slightly unawares received a cut to his right arm and his flank.  He managed to kill the Shahil with a second light magic blow before falling to the ground.

Luckily for him, Ava came to his rescue and fought off any Shahils that attacked them on their way to a medical tent. Ava had not yet received any injuries but had some close calls during her one-on-one fights.

After she had helped Kimash back to one of the medical tents, she lept back into the battle.  She had both her bow and arrows and her sword.  She was mainly using her sword but she planned one finding a higher area so that she could attack from above.

Vanshai had a huge scratch that crossed her face.  It had avoided her right eye by only a millimeter.  The one who had attacked her was an enormous Shahil, it was taller than her by at least twenty centimeters.  In the end, she managed to kill it by tearing both it's legs off and putting her claws through it's heart.

Zandrilath was still going strong, unleashing large flames to his enemies in addition to his sword hits.  He managed to avoid any serious blows from the enemy.

The whole battlefield was a mixture of screeches, screams, explosions and the clanging of metal.  No one with an exterior point of view could tell which side was winning.  The only thing someone external to the battle could see was bodies, blood, teeth, metal and magical attacks.

"Does anyone know which one is leading these things?" bellowed Thrivil through the communicator as he was fighting

"Sorry boss!" answered Tom "Anyway, I wouldn't be too concerned with finding out which one is leading them.  We just need to win this fight and get all of these Shahils off of this planet."

"Fine.  How are things looking on your side?" asked Thrivil

"Well, we're doing what we can.  We've lost a few hundred soldiers." replied Tom.  You could hear the deafening sound of the raging battle as he spoke.

"Keep up the good work.  On our side, Kimash has been hit.  Ava told me that he had a cut on his arm and flank and that his ears had been cut off." reported Thrivil

"Is he all right??" asked Ashley

"Ava said that she had helped him to a medical tent.  He should be fine." replied Thrivil, panting but still trying to reassure his team.

As Thrivil finished his communication, he stabbed a Shahil that was about to attack him from behind in the stomach, then, as he turned around, beheaded it.

As he looked around, his warriors were doing well now: the ground was mainly strewn with lifeless Shahil bodies.
