Warriors of Darkness Book 2: The Fight

Chapter 19

The battle against the Shahils was won, but at a great cost.  The whole team suffered greatly from Tom's death.  This making their link even stronger.  The whole army suffered for their losses as well, and so did the families.

Zandrilath and Shazma joined the team as warriors after they recovered from their wounds: Zandrilath's wounds were only scars and Shazma has learned to fight with only an eye since she was given a prosthetic arm as replacement for the one she lost. Kimash and Ava recovered from their wounds: Ava's sword wound only left a long scar and Kimash's ears had healed and his cuts were no longer visible.

The whole army had a ceremony for those who had valiantly perished during the war and for Thrivil's promotion to Supreme Commanders. Mishai had been promoted to leader, Shaetran had been promoted to General and Speria was promoted to lieutenant.

During the ceremony for those who had perished, Mishai made a speech.

"We will never forget those who have perished in this war to save Earth.  They died valiantly, fighting for a planet's survival.  It was not their home planet, but it was a planet that would have been destroyed if not for them.  They also fought in order to protect our own home.  They fought, in order to protect these two realms from a vicious enemy.  An enemy, who would have returned if not for our soldiers' bravery, and determination!  In this day, we honor those who have died to save our realm, and Earth."

The clan had a smaller ceremony for Sapphire and Tom's death in addition to Zandrilath and Shazma's integration into the team.

"Before we begin the ceremony for Zandrilath and Shazma's integration, I would like to say a few words before we bury Tom and Sapphire." said Thrivil "He was a brave warrior.  A bit shy, yes, but nonetheless one of the bravest warriors I have ever seen.  He sacrificed his life to protect those who remain from any more Shahil attacks.  We'll miss you Tom."

"As for my sister" began Thrivil, tears welling up in his eyes "She was the best warrior I ever knew.  She was also a loyal, funny and determined friend.  Her loss..... will not only be hard for me, but for the whole team.  We'll deeply miss you sister.  I will never forget you."

After a minute of silence, they went on to the ceremony for Zandrilath's and Shazma's integration into the team.

"Even in these grim circumstances, I am glad to announce that Zandrilath and Shazma, previously the leaders of the Omega and Alpha sections, are joining the team.  Shazma, has learned how to fight with her prosthetic arm and with only one eye and Zandrilath has recovered from his wounds.  We welcome you into the team." said Mishai.

A few months after the ceremonies, Ashley and Karo became particularly close, as well as Speria and Mishai.  

Thrivil had a hard time getting over his sister's death.  He spent most of his free time spacing out or crying.  In the end, he gave up his ice magic and specialized himself in dark magic, in honor of his sister.
