I got bored again oops. Also I am terrible at making up puzzles, please forgive me.

Puzzling Love

You hated it. You hated having to lie to the Professor about who "Future Luke" really was. Yet, you couldn't bear to let yourself give him away. You trusted and loved Clive; you were loyal to him. He'd been your only friend for half your life, so if that meant lying to Professor Layton and Luke, so be it.

You were walking around London, the future London, and placing little papers with a puzzle in each on anything you could.

*Reader's P.O.V.*

It's only to buy some time... I thought, But what if the Professor caught on?

I sighed and shook my head as I mumbled to myself about how it's possible he hasn't caught on. I casually slipped the papers onto anything and everything, so as to keep those two occupied.

Soon enough, I had run out of the little slips of paper, so I went back to Clive to get more.

I knocked lightly, knowing he might be concentrating on something.

"Clive, are you in there?"

"Yes, (Y/N). Come in." He replied.

I walked in and saw him sitting on the chair in the living room. He didn't seem to be busy.

"I-I need more puzzles, sir!" I exclaimed, getting a bit flustered by his casual appearance. It wasn't everyday that he wore the usual stuff, just less...precise. He was missing his tie and his shirt was unbuttoned a bit, as well as his hat, he didn't have it on.

He smiled at me, "Good job, (Y/N). Now we have about an hour to an hour and a half's time."

I blushed slightly and nodded, "I-I was...um wondering if you needed me to go put more out," I rephrased my above outburst.

"No, no. We have plenty of time. Why don't you come play a game with me? I have a few puzzles for you to solve."

I blinked, "Huh? What kind of puzzles?"

"Oh, none in particular!" He smiled.

He's being more...happy and cheery than he usually is. I wonder what's up.

I shrugged off the feeling and sat down beside him. He had three puzzles laying down on the table, ready for me to solve.

"They get progressively harder as you solve them," He said.

I nodded and smiled as I read the first one.

This word can have three letters, and also two spellings, two meanings as well. But the one I am meaning has already been said in this puzzle. Do you see it?

I read it a couple times over, not noticing the slightly indented part until the fourth time I did read it.

"I got it! The word 'I'!"

Clive smiled, "Was that one too easy?"

I giggled and picked up the second one.

This is more like a poem!? I thought, confused as could be.

Like the Bitter-sweet enD to a nicE day, Over a conVersation starteD At randoM, Viciously endeD in The blink of an Eye
Time is Such a powerful thiNg. Don't let iT go to wAstE.
I spelled a word in this, but can you see what word I spelled?

I blinked and looked at all the capitalized letters, spelling out words from each. Not many words came out of it though.

"Love!" I said, smiling.

He nodded and smiled, "One more (Y/N)!"

I read it and smiled.

It's a solo letter but also an almost unavoidable word. It is frequently said to other people, and I have said it in the last two puzzles.
What word is it?

I blinked and thought for a moment, letting each part sink in. I mumbled to myself.

"A letter by itself...unavoidable...used with other people..."

I smiled, "You!"

He looked at me with a giant smile, "Put all three in order."

"I love you?" I said.

"I love you too, (Y/N). I have for a long time," He responded.

I flushed red as I realized what had just happened. Before I could say anything, Clive pulled me to him with my hand.

"Did you like my puzzles?" He asked, smiling and blushing, our faces inches apart; so close we could kiss.

I blinked and realized that my face was getting very warm, "I-I...I did!"

"Good, I knew you would like them," He replied as he closed the gap between us, locking his lips with mine.

Sorry if he was OOC, I am not sure how he would act in a situation like this, so I winged it!
