This demon dad needs love.
One Drink
Reader's P.O.V.
I was lazily walking around Pitch Black World, bored and frankly, done with everything right now. I had just got laid off by that God-Awful (haha puns) Fumus, who insisted he had to do things on his own instead of letting me help him with all his paperwork he always seemed to be busy with. So, I was unemployed, almost broke since my pay should have come today, and mad. Mad for a few reasons.
One, Fumus is a jerk.
Two, I'm broke and hungry.
Three, my boyfriend dumped me for a dumb rich girl. Ugh.
I sighed and walked into a bar, so I could spend the last few dollars I had on a drink. I half-heartedly opened the silky black door, noticing how cool it felt against my skin. I smiled, It's pretty hot outside today... I thought.
I walked in and looked around, the bar was a neat little place, the seats being cherrywood and draped with black and white pillows. The tables were the same, except they had white cloths on them. The bar was lined with many assortments of alcohol, both strong and weak, so as to make combinations. The bar stools were a lighter shade of brown as the others, and had black cushions. The bar stand itself was a grey-ish marble, which glistened from water and cleaning solution. You could visibly tell the owner takes pride in his or her work.
Not seeing many people in here, I sat beside a man who wore a black tuxedo suit. He had, from what I could tell, dirty blonde hair and horns that were grey and had black stripes on them. He had his head down so I wasn't sure if he was asleep or not, but he was mumbling inaudible things.
I wanted to strike a conversation when the bartender walked up to me, a paper over his face for some reason. He was dressed in black and white and had a tail with what looked like stitches on them, he also had black horns with one having a stitch-looking pattern on it.
"Hello, Miss. What could I get you today?" He said.
"Oh well...I'm not exactly sure yet, and I don't have much money, so I'll just take whatever is your cheapest thing!" I said, smiling at him.
He nodded a bit and walked away for a few moments. Seeing as I was alone in silence again, I tapped the demon man on the shoulder lightly.
He looked up at me, tears in his eyes. He quickly wiped them away as he realized what was happening. He put on a bright smile, "H-Hello there!"
I smiled back, "Hello, I'm (Y/N)! Is there something the matter? You seem upset."
He looked away sheepishly and sighed, "Oh it's nothing unusual, my daughter hates me and refuses to talk to me at all...a-also, I'm Sullivan!"
I gasped slightly, "Aw I'm sure she's just going through a hateful phase, I'm sure she loves you Sullivan! You seem like a very nice person!"
The bartender came back with my drink, "Here you go, Miss."
I nodded in thanks and turned back to Sullivan as I opened the small bottle of beer, and placed five on the bar stand next to me.
Sullivan was blushing faintly, a small smile on his lips, "That was a nice thing for you to say!"
I giggled at his flustered appearance, That's kinda cute! Wait what I have barely met him!
"It's no problem, I only call what I see!" I said jokingly.
He laughed and looked down a bit, "No, No that cannot be right."
"Why do you say that?" I inquired, taking a drink and leaning forward a bit.
He chuckled, "I have a bad reputation with being a crybaby..."
I pushed him lightly with my shoulder, "Everyone has emotions, you have a good reason to show them! Don't think bad of yourself just because people think bad of you!"
He smiled wider and laughed, pushing me with his shoulder.
"I'll try to remember that next time, okay?"
I nodded, "Okay!"
He looked down as a small silence was taking place, I took a swig of my drink.
"U-um...(Y/N)...may I ask why you are here? Not many people ever come around here, let alone a pretty girl like you!"
I blushed and giggled, "Well...my boss fired me, I don't have much money, and my boyfriend broke up with me for a rich girl," I sighed, "Stupid gold digger."
Sullivan eyes widened, "How could someone dump you, you are so gorgeous and nice, not to mention being fired. Some jerks they are!"
I blushed more and giggled, "You are too nice, really. I'm not that special!"
He shook his head, his hair softly swaying as he did so. He pushed it back gently and looked me in the eyes, his glowing yellow ones filled with sincerity.
"To me, even if I had just met you, you are the most special person in the world." He blinked and looked away, blushing.
I flushed red and blinked, processing what he said for a moment. Then I smiled.
"You are too kind, Sullivan. I wish my ex-boyfriend was as nice as you!"
He smiled nervously, not meeting my gaze. His hands were twitching a bit.
"Sullivan?"
"Y-Yes, (Y-Y/N)!!" He spluttered, his face reddening in embarrassment.
"Are you okay?"
"A-ah...yes, fine! Um...I-I have a question to ask of you," He mumbled, lowering his head.
"What is it?" I tilted my head.
"Um...(Y-Y/N)...could I um...t-take you out sometime?!" He talked fast as he said the last part.
I flushed bright red and nodded, "Sure, Sullivan! That sounds fun!"
The bartender smiled under the parchment he was wearing under his face. He liked to see people who were bummed out have a good time, even if not many people came here.
Sullivan laughed in relief, he pecked my cheek lightly as he stood up to leave.
"Meet me here tomorrow at the same time, okay, (Y/N)? I have to go to work now or Glasses will have my head!" He said as he walked out.
I smiled and finished my drink and paid for it. I walked out, now happy as could be.
