A Bakers' Promise
Early in the morning, I got to my bakery. I was making cupcakes for one of my customers, but I wasn't really thinking about the task at hand.
I was thinking about Fumus. Fumus, yes the God of Pitch Black World, that one. I had feelings for the God, it's true. I'm not denying that.
To myself anyway. I'd deny it to anyone else, in fact I have before. All the other bakers in this shop suspect I like him as well, but I shake my head in a hurried attempt to get them to stop.
I never really talk to him, he places an order and I nod and give him the order. It's not that he doesn't try to talk to me, he has before, out of boredom. It's that I get so shy and quiet that I basically ignore him, and I feel so bad about it. But I can't help myself, I can't. I try but all that happens is very very soft stuttering and by the time I have enough confidence to say something, he's already left the ordering stand.
I sighed and laid my head down on my hands, not hearing the soft ting of the door opening. I was dozing off when I heard the ringing of the bell that signals a customer. I yawned and finished putting the batch in the oven, then walked into the dining area. I was greeted with Fumus, standing, waiting.
My eyes widened and blushed a bright red. He looked at me and smiled faintly.
"My brother told me to stay here to relieve stress. Even though you might not be open."
I smiled and giggled lightly, nodding and motioning to a chair.
"You're awfully quiet, aren't you?"
I looked to the side, brushing my hair to the side and nodding.
"Why is that? I'm not that intimidating, am I?"
I blushed and shrugged, my heart soaring into space with nervousness. My pulse skyrocketed and my face flushed red.
He chuckled and shrugged, "Anyway. I'll have what I usually do."
I nodded and began to walk back to the kitchen.
"Oh, and (Y/N)?"
I turned back.
"You're pretty cute too." He winked, chuckling as my face grew a dark red and my nervous giggle came back.
