Back on the road, and bored out of my mind, I was trying my hardest to think of ways to get Mica and Niall together. Because I knew they were perfect together! It was about time two of my best friends find happiness. And Harry... was driving me crazy. I couldn't have two seconds alone with my boyfriend because he's decided he wants ALL of my attention. This is the first time I've escaped in about five hours. Five hours of hearing him talk about how much he loves talking to me, and how he doesn't think we spend enough time together anymore! I couldn't handle anymore!
I felt bad about leaving Zayn alone with him, but my headache was killing me. I could hear Niall on the phone from here, talking to who I assumed was his brother. Greg something, and he sounded happy. From where I was in my bunk, I could see Mica talking to Louis, who was watching me while listening to her. Liam was in the bunk above mine, pretending to sleep. We all knew the break-up had affected him more than he was letting on. And so, with the risk of being spotted on my mind, I climbed out of my bunk and into his beside him.
"Talk to me, Li. What's going through that head of yours?" I asked. He turned to look at me, and I saw for the first time he was crying. I'd never seen him cry before, and it alarmed me.
"I just miss her, Haley. I don't know what I'm going to do without her," he told me, turning to face me completely. He had bags under his eyes, letting me know he hadn't slept in a while. His skin seemed paler too, like he wasn't getting enough to eat and drink. With a pang, I realized I didn't know when I'd last seen him eat anything. I frowned.
"I know you miss her. I'd be worried if you didn't. But you still need to take care of yourself, you know. Starving yourself isn't going to bring her back. It's only going to hurt you. And it's okay to cry, but you shouldn't hide yourself away while you do it. When I left, I was hurting, so I went to my best friend in the world and cried on her shoulder for a week or so. All of us here are your best friends. You can come to any one of us and we'll be here for you, no matter what time it is, or what you want to talk about. Even if you just want a shoulder to cry on for a while, or someone to sit in silence with. We're here," I told him quietly.
"None of you need to listen to me complain about the end of my relationship. Besides, this isn't the first time we've broken up. It just feels worse than the others, because I know she isn't going to be coming back. Usually, when we break up like this, we take a month break and then try again. This time, she's moved on. She's got a new guy, and he's better than me. I don't know what to do, because I love her still!" he said quietly, fighting his tears.
"That's her mistake. She doesn't realize what she's losing, Li. Someday you'll find the person who is perfect for you, the one who loves you just as much as you love her. Until then, you've still got us," I replied. I held my arms out to him, offering him comfort that he gladly took.
When Liam was sleeping again, I left his bunk and walked back out into the main room of the bus. Harry was gone by then, probably out looking for me. Zayn and Louis were talking quietly, and I could still faintly hear Niall on the phone. I wasn't sure where Mica had gone though, and that worried me.
"Where's Mics?" I asked. They both looked up at me, like they hadn't noticed my reappearance. And they probably hadn't.
"She went out with Paul, to grab more food. We were running low, surprisingly, because Mommy Direction stopped doing her job when she got a boyfriend," Louis teased. I stuck my tongue out at him.
"I shouldn't always have to be the one shopping, you know. It would do you boys some good to shop for yourselves. But not Niall, because he'd come home with the whole store," I informed them. Zayn patted the spot right beside him so I sat down.
