The Hotel: the lobby; Haley's POV

The hotel was huge, I could just tell by the lobby. Amazingly, Paul kept everybody together and pretty much out of trouble. I'd never know how he did that, because I sure couldn't. I was feeling a bit better now, thankfully, so it was easy to make myself smile at the man behind the desk. That does not, of course, mean that I'll be fine later. I'll still have the mood swings and all, the chocolate and Midol just got it under control for a while. They should be thankful that Louis was smart enough to bring some. Or that Mica was nice enough to warn him.

And so what if I flirted a little with that guy? I was in a good mood! Zayn had no reason to give me a look and then glare at the poor guy! I'd have to talk to him about that later... then again, maybe he had every right... I don't know, I was out of it. Midol always did this to me. It's a girl thing, and I was going to milk it, because every girl deserves to get spoiled every once in a while. And Louis and Zayn were both spoiling me. That bag of Lou's was never-ending, or so it seemed.

"Are we there yet?" I asked for the fifth time in the elevator. I could tell Liam wanted to make me shut up, and Paul was getting to that point too, but they were holding their tongues... so far. Louis was smirking, because he found this whole thing hilarious. He was the only one that I was being even remotely nice to.

"No, not for another four floors!" Harry said, sounding tired. I giggled and promptly asked again. I watched Liam reach into the bag on his shoulder and pull out a roll of duct tape. I gasped in shock, knowing what he wanted to do with it.

"I'd sooner die!" I exclaimed dramatically, hiding behind Louis. "And are we there yet?"

The resulting scuffle lasted for three floors, before the doors randomely opened and a girl stood there watching. She couldn't have been older than ten, and she just stared at us like we were crazy. "You know... I'll just catch the next one," she said, stepping back and letting the doors close. We were silent for only a second before the laughter started. Even Liam was laughing.

The doors opened again on our floor, much to everyone's relief. Except for mine. "Guys... I left one of my bags in the lobby. Will someone go with me to get it?" I asked, embarrassed. They all groaned.

"I'll go get your bag, lass. You boys get settled in. Haley gets to pick the first room, and Harry, don't even think about trying to take a bedroom," Paul said, stepping back into the elevator. I smiled at him, happy to be able to relax. The Midol was wearing off.

That night, I didn't sleep at all. I was up with the worst cramps I'd ever had, and I had to run to the bathroom more than once. I wasn't sure what was wrong, because I'd never been this bad on my period before. I was beginning to wonder how much of it was PMS and how much of it was actual illness. I decided to talk to Paul about going to a doctor first thing in the morning. I pulled my phone out to text Mica, but decided against it when I saw the message from Beth waiting for me.

Beth: Enjoy America! Check your bag for necessities. I made sure you'll have everything you need. And no, I didn't go through anything. I just know you.

Beth: Okay, and maybe I went through the one with cosmetics and realized you were far from prepared.

Beth: You don't owe me anything, hun. It's on me. You need someone to look out for you while you're away. Louis will be there for you.

Beth: And just so you know, I put a few numbers in your phone I thought you might appreciate.

Beth: So maybe... I completely snooped and made sure you'd be okay. ;)
