My Girl

Chapter 1

"Here comes the conceited war freaks." Lee Dong Wook, Song Ji Hyo's friend outside the Running Man complains. They were notorious for being the school's bullies.

"What are you talking about? They are such cuties, omo, I really envy you Ji Hyo." Kim Seolhyun counters while glancing at the group making way to the school cafeteria. She is the only female friend she has since most of the time, girls don't like her for being the only girl the Running Man has high regards.

Ji Hyo just roll her eyes and look at her six male friends. She still can't understand how she became friends with them since Dong Wook is partly true in saying that they are indeed a group of war freaks, and they were really arrogant and childish at most times.

She looks at them carefully and although they seem to be obnoxious at times, they are really loyal and so a wave of affection surge through her. They are her best friends in the world besides Dong Wook and Seolhyun. But the two are not part of Running Man, the richest and most popular in school, not to mention extremely goodlooking. She looks at them one by one and she smiles.

Yoo Jae Suk, the only child of a garment factory magnate. He was the nicest of them all, part leader of the group. He is also the most intelligent of them. He is not all bad boy but actually their class representative. He also loves to dance. He wears glasses that really suits him, with deep brown hair, pointed nose and fair skin. No wonder a lot of female students follows him around campus.

Ji Suk Jin, the oldest member in the gang. He was 2 years older than them and is almost 21 but since their family loves travelling he was often absent and drop out for 2 years. His family owns part of the school and since he is also intelligent, it was easy for him to come back in school. Jae Suk and him are first cousins that's why even he is older he was close to them. He usually thinks that since he is the oldest, he should be their leader but of course he is constantly bullied by the other members since he is such a weakling. He doest't like sports or any activity that will make him sweat. But he likes mind games. He is actually pretty intelligent too and loves singing as well.

Kim Jong Kook, the brawnest of them all. He likes sports activity and excels in every competition he participated. His parents are well knows retired athletes and owns a lot of health food chains and gyms in Seoul. He has a lot of girls screaming for him especially when he shows off and flex his muscles in front of his never ending fan girls. She could see him strutting and showing off his arms at the moment which makes her laugh out loud. Her two friends look at her like she has gone crazy but she just shakes her head and then looks at the rest of her friends.

Kang Gary, he is often teased as the ugliest of the six boys. Although he is not, really, the fact that he is very popular with the female students here at school. He is even the cassanova of the group because he looks so naive but can utter words that girls would go crazy for. His parents venture in restaurant business and at a young age he manages some of their restaurants already.

Ha Dong Hoon or Haha, he is the craziest of them all, the childish but loveable of the group. He used to be the playboy among the six but she noticed that since Kim Byul, a transferee from the province became their classmate, he seems to become serious. She remembers him flirting with her a few times since they hit puberty but it was all for fun and she didn't really take it seriously. But now she often see him spacing out and saw him staring at Byul in class when he thinks no one sees him. His mother is a well known newscaster while his father is a businessman who ventures in malls.

And lastly Lee Kwang Soo. She is closest to him although he is a year younger than her. Except for Suk Jin who is 20, the rest of them is 18years old and Kwang Soo is 17. They often bully him but although some see him as rude he is actually very loyal and sweet. He is always the one who help her with anything without even asking. Maybe it's because of the fact that they live near each other and their parents are actual best friends. She often see him with his parents when they visit their house. He was very shy and awkward since he was really tall even at a young age. Since their parents will take hours to talk about their lives as well as their businesses, they often found themselves being left alone in a corner or the veranda. They wouldn't talk with each other but eventually they started to become friends.

As she look at the six boys, she knows that whatever really happens, they will always be friends for life. Their parents are all friends too so it isn't hard for them when they go out late at night or have overnights at times. Her parents trust each one of them with her life and she as well knows that she can count on them. She treasured each one of them although most of the time they were really irritating and annoying.

She saw Kwang Soo making way to her first as the group went to their special table in the middle of the cafeteria. It was their breaktime, she joins Dong Wook and Seolhyun because the boys were at the principal's office again.

"Ji Hyo, have you eaten already? Come on the guys are going to get some food." Kwang Soo held his hand to hers as he approach their table. Dong Wook immediately becomes irritated since they didn't really get along well.

"Ah Kwang Soo, go and join the boys and get your food. I've already eaten. I'll just pack my things and join you there." She say goodbye to her two friends and pick her tray. Kwang Soo suddenly snatch it from her and picks her bag as well.

"Yaa Kwang Soo I can do that." Of course she knew he wouldn't get food unless she comes with him on their table but it is still exasperating at time.

"Just come along, palli, I don't want to get leftovers." And he usherred her to their spot. Some of the boys are already eating while Haha and Jong Kook are still in line. Kwang Soo immediately joins the two.

"Yaa Jae Suk, I can't believe you didn't stop these idiots from the fight yesterday. You've all been what.. 6x already in Principal's office and it's only the first quarter of schoolyear. And worst of all you even joined in the fight." Ji Hyo immediately scolded them. She was in her art club meeting that time and she only knew about the fight this morning through Dong Wook.

"We didn't start it okay. They were asking for it anyway. Those juniors thought highly of themselves just because they were spoiled brats they think they can defeat us. Nobody messes with the Running Man." Suk Jin interrupted her non-stop berating.

"Omo, Suk Jin oppa, you should be ashamed of yourself, fighting with guys 3yrs younger than you. You are all spoiled brats anyway. If i were there I would be the one to beat all of you." She is really exasperated with their constant fighting. They always cause trouble in school. If not for their families being highly connected they would have been kicked out a long time ago.

"Yaa Ji Hyo, we've been friends for a long time. You should give us the benefit of the doubt. You should have known we don't just fight without just cause. And of course we have our pride to uphold too. " Jae Suk said while eating. Gary is just eating quietly knowing her temper and don't want to aggravate her more.

The rest of the gang return with food in tow. They all ate happily bickering with each other.

She studied them quietly. Come to think of it, all the fights they had been, she always thought the worst about them. But eventually she will learn that most of the time they really had good reasons for what they have done, like they were just defending a bullied student, or they saw someone doing bad things. But since they are known for being bully themselves, they were often seen in a bad light.

They were really a bunch of arrogant males that thought they were God's greatest gift to all the female students in school. But they are all kind hearted and generous especially to those who don't belong in the upper society. She feels proud and lucky to be the only girl that can scold them openly and be the only girl they accepted in their group. Even their girlfriends don't hang out with them in their hideout. Or maybe they just don't want to be tease in front of their girlfriends or they haven't found that girl they would be comfortable to hang out with them.

"Arasso, but please refrain from having fistfights okay. I don't want to see any of you hurt." Ji Hyo look at them all with so much affection.
