My Girl

Chapter 2

The boys just got out of the principal's office. They were scolded for almost an hour for beating some of the juniors yesterday.

"Wait 'til my mom hears about this again, she threatened to cut my allowance if I become involved in another brawl." Jong Kook said while gathering all his things. It was breaktime already and they were all hungry.

"Me too, my dad is really angry because Yonghwa's dad called him last night. That brat lied to his father that we started the fight. He was so mad because he wants me to finish high school already but I am still 2 years behind in my studies." Suk Jin comb his hair with his fingers out of frustration.

"How can we not intervene when those bastards were so ruthless to that John Park. He may be their class clown but they shouldn't treat him like a piece of trash. That kid is such a weakling but he is really nice and smart in class." Jae Sook interrupted.

"It's good that Ji Hyo seems unaware of what happened yesterday. If she was there, she'll probably be the one to beat us to death. " Haha said while they were all walking towards the cafeteria.

"Of course those juniors will make us look bad in front of Ji Hyo because most of them are in love with her. I really like to punch that Seo Joon. He was always bragging that he is close with Ji Hyo in their art club." The ever peaceful Gary somehow seems angry.

"He is such a hypocrite. Ji Hyo never lets anyone get close to her like she is with us. She is too good to be with anyone else." Jong Kook says indignantly. He knows that Ji Hyo will get mad since they were called at the office, she would have surely known by now what happened.

They entered the school cafeteria and hush fell on the crowd, then a buzz of excitement could be heard after. Girls were giggling non stop and the boys love the attention they get.

"Yaa Ji Hyo is with Dong Wook again. You go ahead and get food and I'll get her to join us." Kwang Soo made his way towards Ji Hyo. She was with Seolhyun and Dong Wook.

"Ji Hyo, have you eaten already? Come on the guys are going to get some food." He held his hand as he approach her. He looks at Dong Wook for a moment and he could see that he looks pissed. He didn't really like him since he was the only guy she is close with besides them. And he thinks that Dong Wook had hidden feelings for her and for some reason it irritated the hell out of him.

"Ah Kwang Soo go on and join the boys and get your food. I've already eaten. I'll just pack my things and join you there." He just grabs the tray she was holding and get her bag. They all eat together and even if she ate already she still belongs in their favorite spot, the table in the middle of the cafeteria. And as predicted she becomes irritated with him.

"Yaa Kwang Soo I can do that." She looks like punching him so he just walks ahead of her knowing she will follow. She definitely heard about the brawl yesterday so she is not in the good mood and he doesn't want to add to her temper.

"Just come along, palli, I don't want to get leftovers. " And strode quickly on their table. After dumping her things he joined Haha and Jong Kook who are still waiting in line for their food.

"Yaa Kwang Soo, Ji Hyo seems to be in a bad mood. She looks like she is scolding them already. " Haha pointed out as they saw the boys flushing red while JI Hyo was talking.

"She probably asked someone about why we were wanted in the principal's room so she will be berating us the whole day." Jong Kook said while piling his food with tofu and fruits.

"Of course she will get mad. We were often called in the office already. But what really pissed me off is that Dong Wook hanging around Ji Hyo all the time. Seolhyun is okay because she is actually nice and she was her only female friend but Dong Wook? I wonder why she likes hanging out with him." Kwang Soo was sulking while getting his food.

"Right, he makes us look bad to Ji Hyo since he was all goody shoes." Jong Kook answered as they head back on their table.

As usual she scolded them for fighting. She always thought the worst of them everytime they get in trouble. But all the boys knew that she had their best interest at heart. But as they say boys will be boys and there are some things that can't be settle orally. They were all born with a golden spoon in their mouth and were brought up to be a leader. And a good leader should always stand up not only for themselves but to those who are under them. After the scolding, the boys ate their meal happily while joking with each other.

"Arasso, but please refrain from having fistfights okay. I don't want to see any of you hurt." Ji Hyo suddenly said. They all look at her affectionately. Kwang Soo immediately stands and back hug Ji Hyo.

"You love us that much right? But having fights are part of every boy's growing up. Promise we won't do anything that will make you worry over us." Kwang Soo said while hugging her. Gary immediately stands and snatch him out of Ji Hyo.

"Yaa Kwang Soo why are you hugging her like that. Do you want to die?" He jokingly punch his arm. They were all very close and they sometimes embrace her and even kiss her goodbye. She treats them equally but since she knew Kwang Soo from their diaper days, she was closest to him. They all like her at some point in their lives but she never showed any preference to any of them and just treat them as her bestfriends. And they all treated her with much respect and affection and not one of them ever take advantage of her closeness with them.

"We really appreciate your concern for us Ji Hyo. So we will try not to worry you too much." Jae Sook squeeze her hand. All the boys stood and pat Ji Hyo's head showing their affection for her. They all head to their next class laughing out loud while acting cool towards the female students who would often say hi to all of them.
