Chapter 13

Kara's POV
At lunch time Mora got hungry so we went to Noonans for lunch. She got a grilled cheese sandwich and French fries and I got two veggie wraps, one for me and one for Cat. When we got back to the office, Mora sat at my desk and are her food while I got back to work. Around 5 O'clock, Cat told me I could leave so I packed up Mora's toys and we went home.
"When is Winn coming?" Mora asked me.
"In 30 minutes," I replied, "why don't you go get in the bath for mommy?"
"Ok," she agreed.
A few minutes later I went into the bathroom to see Mora in the tub playing with her rubber ducky. I washed her hair and body then helped her out and into her towel. I dressed her in her princess pajamas and we went out into the living room.
"Mommy, where's Winn?" Mora asked me whining.
"He won't come if you whine," I said giving her a joking warning.
"I'm sorry!" She said panicking.
"Relax kiddo I was kidding I'm sure he's almost here," I assured her.
Not even a minute later, Winn knocked on our door and Mora went running up to the door. I opened the door and Mora grabbed Winn's hand and pulled him inside. I watched them pour all of the Lego pieces onto the ground in separate piles. I laughed as Winn and Mora built more and more of the princess castle. After a little while I left them alone and went to my room for some piece and quiet. I was in a very good part of my book when Mora ran in.
"Mommy mommy we finished it!" Mora said.
"Really!" I said.
"Yeah, come see," she told me.
When I went out into my living room I saw a beautiful princess castle built on my living room table.
"Wow, that's great!" I said.
"Well it's late I should get going," Winn said.
"Thank you Winn!" Mora said giving him a big hug.
"Aww it was fun squirt," he replied hugging her back.
I looked at my watch and realized how late it actually was.
"Oh no it's an hour past Mora's bedtime!" I exclaimed.
"I'll see you tomorrow squirt," Winn said.
"Actually Mora is going to stay home with Alex tomorrow but maybe you can come over for dinner tomorrow night!" I said.
"Sure," Winn agreed.
"Yay!" Mora said.
After Winn left I picked up Mora and took her to her room. I tucked her into bed.
"Story time!?" She asked.
"No Mora it's time for bed," I responded.
"No it's story time!" She insisted.
"No Mora."
"Yes mommy."
"Mora," I warned.
"Mommy!" She whined.
"Mora go to bed," I said.
"No mommy, I want a story," she said getting on my nerves.
"No Mora," I said sternly.
"Yes mommy!" She yelled.
I heard the door open and Alex came into the room.
"Kara it's way past her bedtime why is she still up?" Alex asked.
"She was playing with Winn and I lost track of time, but now she won't go to sleep," I told Alex silently begging her for help.
"Why not?" She asked Mora.
"I want a story," Mora replied.
"Ok I'll tell you one," Alex said.
I glared at Alex, and she gave me a look that said "trust me, I got this" do I did.
"Once upon a time there was a princess named Mora, and two queens named Kara and Alex," Alex started. This made Mora giggle. "One day it was very late and princess Mora was tired so she was a very good girl and she went to sleep. The end," Alex finished.
"I'm the princess," Mora giggled.
"Only if you go to sleep," Alex said.
"Ok," Mora agreed.
"Thank you princess," I said.
"Your welcome mommy," she responded.
She was asleep in no time. When she fell asleep Alex and I quietly left the room.
"Thanks for your help in there, she just refused to listen," I said to Alex.
"No problem," Alex replied.

In the middle of the night I woke up to crying coming from Mora's room. I ran out of my room, pounded on Alex's door and ran down the hall to Mora's room.
"What's wrong honey?" I asked her.
She just continued to cry.
"Mora sweetie what's wrong," I asked again.
Still no talking just crying.
"Do you not feel good?" I asked her.
She nodded.
"Does your tummy hurt?" I asked.
She shook her head no. That's when I noticed she was sweating. I felt her forehead and she was burning up.
"Alex get the thermometer!" I yelled as I picked up Mora and held her in my arms. Alex ran in with the thermometer in her hands. I grabbed it and put it in her mouth. Mora kept trying to grab it and pull it out as she cried but she stopped grabbing at it when I pulled it out. She had a temperature of 99 degrees! Alex got on the phone with our mom while I put Mora in a cold bath. As I lifted her in she continued to cry and when she felt the water she begged me not to put her in because it was too cold. When I placed her all the way in, she instantly was glad I made her. She stopped crying when I handed her her rubber ducky.
"Mom said that her temperature is not too high so we don't need to take her to a doctor but she said to give her children's Motrin," Alex told me handing me the bottle with a cup full of it.
I was trying to give Mora the medicine when she started making faces at it.
"Mora please take this," I begged her.
"Eww!" Mora said.
"Please baby," I said.
"Icky," she responded.
"Mora please," I begged putting my head in my hands. I was so worried about her.
"How about I handle this you look like you need to go to bed, you have to go to work tomorrow," Alex said to me.
"Ok," I agreed, after all I didn't have the strength to argue right now. Alex took my seat as I went back to bed.
