Chapter 14

Kara's POV
When I woke up I quietly went into Mora's room and saw her peacefully asleep. I closed the door and went into the kitchen. I left Alex a thank you note and a to do list on the counter before leaving for work.
When I got to work I told Winn and James about last night and apologized to Winn because dinner was cancelled tonight. They both promised to stop by tonight to see Mora. I kept checking my phone throughout the day looking for a text from Alex. Apparently Cat noticed.
"Where is Mora?" She asked me.
"Oh she's sick," I said," last night she woke up crying with a temperature of 99 degrees," I explained.
"Shouldn't you be home with her?" Cat asked.
"No it's ok my sister is with her," I replied. Seconds later my phone rang. "It's her," I said.
"Go home Keira," Cat told me.
"Ok, thanks," I said.
"And make sure she gets lots of rest and fluids. And apple juice helps," Cat told me.
"Thank you Miss Grant," I said.
I answered my phone and heard Mora crying in the background.
"How is she?" I asked.
"She's ok, but she keeps asking for you," Alex replied.
"Ok well I told Cat and she told me to go home so I'm on my way," I told her.
"Great," Alex responded.
On my way home I stopped and got some apple juice, remembering what Cat had said. When I got home, I found Alex and Mora on the couch watching Peter Pan. Mora was asleep. I came over after filling a sippy cup with apple juice. Alex looked at me like I was crazy. I assured her it would help. I gently woke up Mora to give her some more medicine and some apple juice. She gladly took the medicine which surprised me and Alex looked very proud.
"What?" I mouthed to Alex. She just gave me a smile in return. Mora grabbed the soppy cup out of my hand and when she realized I wasn't Alex she was very happy.
"Mommy!" She said excited to see me.
"Hi baby," I said,"how do you feel?"
"You and Aunt Alex made me all better," she said.
"Aunt Alex?" I asked.
"I had her call me that," Alex told me.
"Ok," I said.

I checked her temperature a few days later and it was back to normal. I was so relieved. I stayed home every day she was sick and I was surprisingly happy to get back to work.
