Chapter 18

When we were done with dinner we went back outside and looked at the puppies through the window.
"Fine, we can go look at them inside," Alex gave in.
"Yay!" Mora and I said together.
We went inside and Mora ran off to look at different puppies with Alex running after her. I went to the puppy I had been looking at through the window. She was a small white terrier. She was the runt of her family and no one has wanted her yet. I was allowed inside the pen to play with her. I sat down and she came and jumped onto my lap. I pet her and she licked my face. She snuggled on my lap and payed there.
"Mora come look at this one," I said calling her to see this puppy.
Mora came in and the terrier jumped into her lap as well. We instantly fell in love with the puppy.
"Let's get this one," I said.
"Kara, do you really think that you can own a puppy right now? You will need to train her and feed her and walk her. Do you even have time?" Alex asked.
"Yes I do," I replied.
"She is actually already trained," the owner told us.
"See," I said to Alex.
"Ok fine," Alex gave in.
"Yay!" Mora and I said.
"Gosh I should be the mom here," Alex muttered under her breath.
I gave her a small look of "I heard that".
We bought all of the necessary stuff for owning a dog. We bought a few toys and a small cage and dog bed. We bought a collar and placed an order for a dog tag. We named the dog marshmallow, mallow for short. We packed everything into our car and drove home. I sat in the backseat with Mora so that we could both hold marshmallow. This was our solution after arguing about who got to hold her. Alex got into the drivers seat and drove us home while we sat in the back playing with mallow. When we got home, I picked up mallow and his stuff and we went inside my apartment. We set up mallow's stuff and went to bed. Mora begged me to put the dog bed in her room so I did.

The next day, I brought Mora to work. She quietly sat at my desk playing with her toys. Winn also let her play games on his computer and play with his toys.
I walked into Cat's office to see her with the back of her glasses in her mouth.
"Cobb salad for lunch Miss Grant?" I asked causing her to jump.
"Jeez Keira you scared me," she said.
"My apologies," I said.
"Yes a Cobb salad should be fine," she replied.
"Ok," I said leaving.
"Keira," she called.
"Yes Miss Grant?" I said.
"What do you think of Supergirl's new allies?"
"I think they are here for a good cause," I replied.
"Even these vigilantes from Star City?" She asked.
"I think that it's wrong for people to call them vigilantes, they are only doing this for the good of the people," I replied.
"That's interesting," she said waving me away.
I turned around and walked back to my desk.
"Mora, I am going to get us lunch really quick ok? Please stay here with Winn," I said.
"Ok mommy," she replied.
"Thanks Winn," I said leaving.
"Kara," he started as I left.
"Bye!" I called.
I heard Winn sigh as I walked out the door. I walked to Noonans and ordered lunch. I was waiting for my food when I saw a cute guy walk to stand next to me.
"Hi," he said.
"Hi," I repeated.
"You look a little lonely, why don't I join you to eat," he said, flirting with me.
"Sorry, I have to get back to work, but it was nice talking with you," I replied.
"Well maybe we can try again tonight?" He asked.
"Are you asking me on a date?" I asked.
"Maybe," he replied.
"Then sure, I would love to go out with you tonight," I said.
"Great, I'll see you here at 8?" He asked.
"Sure, just one thing," I started," what's your name?"
"Tommy Merlyn," he replied. I
"Well, I'm Kara and I'll see you tonight Tommy," I said leaving.
"Bye," he said.
"Nice one Kara," I thought.
I dropped off Cat's lunch.
"I need you to stay late today Kiera," she said.
"Um," I quietly said.
"Is there a problem Keira?" She asked.
"I just, um, have a date," I said.
"Well, those don't come every day, so you can leave now to get ready," she said to me.
"Thanks miss grant," I said leaving.
"Keira," miss grant called.
"Yes?"
"Have fun," she said.
"Thanks," I said leaving.
"Come on Mora, we are going home," I said picking up her toys.
"Why?" She asked.
"Because mommy needs to get ready," I told her.
"For what?" Winn asked.
"I have a date," I replied.
"That's fun," Winn said.
"Yeah, come on Mora," I said taking her hand.
"No! I want to stay with Winn!" She said pulling her hand away.
"I can take her home when I leave," Winn offered.
"Ok thanks," I said.
"Yay!" Mora exclaimed.
"Be good," I told Mora.
"Ok," she replied.
I left Mora with Winn and went home. When I got home, Alex was sitting on the couch reading. I picked up mallow, who was running towards me, I walked over and sat next to Alex.
"How was work?" She asked.
"Good," I replied.
"Where's Mora?" She asked.
"With Winn," I replied.
"Ok, why are you home so early?" She asked.
"I have a date tonight," I responded.
"Ooh," she said putting her book away.
"It's with this guy named Tommy Merlyn-"
"Tommy Merlyn!" She cut me off.
"Yeah, how do you know him?" I asked.
"He's Oliver queens best friend!" She told me.
"Oh, well we were waiting at noonans and he asked me out," I explained.
"Nice," she said getting up.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"To help you pick out an outfit," she said.
"Ok," I said following her to my room. That's when I felt a pinch and everything went black.
