It's strange,
You hurt me just by looking,
You hurt me by just talking the way you do,
I hurt just by looking at you with her,
Still I can't seem to just take on my shoes.
"Just leave," I tell myself,
But I never do.
It's dumb,
You make me fall even harder just by making me believe you care,
You make me go into another world and I can't stop to stare,
Just by smiling I seem to get just a little bit closer,
But when I see you with her,
I know you chose her.
It's ruined,
The way we used to talk,
The way I used to trust you,
The way we could just walk,
I asked you about her,
I asked you if you cared,
You lied and told me she was nobody,
Then you left me right there.
You hurt me,
Not by lying,
Not by thinking it was okay,
You hurt me by trying to get away,
And believing I would stay.
Because I asked you one question,
We were never more than friends,
Still when I had betrothed you my word,
You decided to just lie and walk away.
So tell me; did you ever care?
And should I have stayed?
