I wish you could tell me you were fine,
I wish I could look at you standing in that shopping line,
I wish I could talk to you and confess everything,
But every time I see you, I can't say anything.
I wish I could hug you one last time,
I wish I could hold you in my arms, and not question why,
I wish that the ghost standing alone in my thoughts wasn't you,
'Cause I can't seem to live without you.
You're in my thoughts,
You're in my dreams,
You're in my perfect picture with the polished seams,
You're in my head,
You're in my soul,
And I just want you home.
Not knowing where you are,
Not knowing how you've been,
I wonder if you are alive at this point,
Just come home, please.
This is harder than it seems.
I know you're at war,
I know you choose this yourself,
But knowing you are out there,
Fighting,
Hurting,
Seeing think you can not unsee,
I just want you to come home one day,
That's all I need.
