Chapter 15: I'm Sorry that I Love You

Jaden

 "Jaden, I'm sorry." Aleiah sniffled for what felt like the twentieth time. We went back to my house, but the argument kind of didn't stop there. Still, we're not going to break up. I won't let that happen.

"Why do you keep saying that?" I said.

"I, I just don't know how to feel. Maybe we just need some space. But I promise, this isn't a breakup or break."

I sighed. "Not this again."

"Jaden, come on. Look at us. We're too young for all this unnecessary drama. Maybe it's just for the best. I'm sorry." 

"Aleiah. Aleiah. Aleiah!" I called after her, she kept walking away. "Aleiah!" 

 "Jaden! Jaden! Wake up!" I hear Tayvion say as he shakes me awake. I jumped out of my sleep and rubbed my eyes, wishing that everything really was a dream. 

 It's been 2 days since Aleiah broke up with me, and it's depressing me every chance it gets. She hasn't been to school either, and it's kind of worrying me.

FLASHBACK: 2 DAYS AGO 

 Aleiah suddenly pushed me away after we hugged for a long time. I made a confused face as she cried even harder.

"Jaden, just stop! Stop holding on to me, and let go! It's just best that we take time apart, for my own well being! Just, don't beg me, and just leave me alone! I need some time away from everything and everyone! I'm sorry, but it's over, Jaden!" She backed away and ran off.

"Aleiah! Aleiah! Aleiah!" I kept calling after her. She didn't stop, she kept crying and running away. I yelled in anger as I pulled at my hair and swung my fists angrily. 

Why did everything good have to be ruined? Why did these kinds of things keep happening to Aleiah? Why can't we both be happy for once? Sasha always wants to ruin things, but gets so fucking pissed when things don't go for her like she wants them to. I fucking hate her for this shit!

I felt hot tears stream down my face, but I didn't care. I was pushed beyond the limit, and anyone who stood in my way was going to understand that I was definitely not in the mood.

I was only just willing to do anything to get Aleiah back. But now....

It's too late.

FLASHBACK OVER 

"Tayvion, I need her back, man." I sighed, running my fingers through my hair.

Tayvion sighed, sitting down next to me on his couch. "Look man, I know y'all breakup was hard on you, but you need to understand that maybe she really does need some time to herself. Maybe it wasn't you in the video, but even if it wasn't, Sasha was still trying to hurt her in a way. She's tired of Sasha, and she's tired of being hurt. Everything is fucked up right now, so I don't even blame her for not coming to school lately. Now, I'm not saying that anyone was wrong or right, but I'm saying that you need to talk to her. Tell her you love her."

"I tell her that all the time, Tay."

"Then mean it. Mean it like you're dying. Mean it like it would be the last time you ever see her again. Even if you already did that, show her again."

I looked down at my feet in thought. "Alright. I'm about to go to her house. She should be home."

"Alright, man. Peace." I got up and walked out of his house, getting ready to go and try to get Aleiah back.

One way or another.

"Jaden, what are you doing here?" Aleiah answered the door. Her nose was red, her eyes were very red and puffy, and her skin looked pale a bit. It was obvious that she was crying.

"Aleiah. I know you want me to let go, but I can't. You can't just up and run away from me, expecting me not to want more of us. I need you back, Aleiah. Please don't do this to us because of some lies." 

She stepped aside to let me in and closed the door. "Jaden, I just think it would be best for us to just not see each other for a while. Please don't make this any harder on me or for us. I'm sorry, but things can't just go back to the way they were. You have to understand tha---"

"What?! Understand what?! That you're still hurt by some shit that you know that I didn't do?! I don't understand why you keep doing this to me, Aleiah! You know that I love you, and I would never do anything to hurt you! You're hurting me more than you're hurting yourself! I didn't hurt you, and Sasha's not the only one who hurt you! You're hurting yourself by neglecting your friends and people who love and care about you! Why can't you see that?!"

"Jaden, you don't understand that I've been hurt one too many times and I'll be damned if I ever let it happen to me again! I'm sorry but I can't anymore, Jaden!"

"No, you know what? I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything, and I'm sorry for all of these things that keep happening.  And I'm sorry that I love you." She just stood there as I walked towards the door. "And maybe you're right. It's just best that we spend time apart. 

But I don't know if I can wait forever." And with that, I just walked out. 

Not looking back again.
