Aleiah😍

I woke up in my bed as the morning sun touched my skin. I immediately frowned as I thought about Malak cheating on me with Sausage. They deserve each other, I don't give a shit anymore.

"Aleiah." I heard someone say. I looked, and it was Ajah. "Mom said get ready for school. She had to leave to work early, so I gotta drive you."

I smiled. "You got your license?"

She smiled too. "Yeah, I did. I got it last week."

"That's good. I'm happy for you, Ajah." She slightly smiled before getting ready to walk out of my room, but I stopped her. "Ajah, wait!"

She turned around. "Wassup?"

I hesitated for a brief second. "So say you got cheated on by your boyfriend with a girl who you really don't like, and you don't want him as your boyfriend anymore, and you like his friend more anyway. What would you do?"

"Well," she started off before walking over to my bed and sitting down beside me. "What I would do is, I would let my heart choose for me if my brain isn't functioning the way I need it to. Sometimes your heart might need to take control for a minute because your brain is thinking too much. And when you overthink, you end up tuning out what your heart was trying to tell you, and you end making a choice that you shouldn't have even made. Even though you gotta follow your heart sometimes, you have to take your brain with you."

I was quiet for a minute before she readjusted how she was sitting and she crossed her legs Indian-style. "Because, if you wind up getting your heart broken, your brain will be there to help you recover; if you let it. That's what I would do if I were in this anonymous situation you've brought up."

I looked at her and she was giving me a knowing look. "I, I never thought of it that way."

Ajah sighed. "Look, Aleiah, if your heart and your brain are both telling you that Jaden is the one you really want, then I say listen to them. They know what they are doing, this is their job. Now, I'm not saying that this will have a pretty picture to it, because it might not. Jaden might even break your heart one day, but that doesn't mean that you just stop and give up right there. Just wait and see what happens later on. It may not happen the next day, or the day after that, but it will happen."

I pulled her into a sisterly hug and she embraced me back. "Thanks, Ajah. I really needed to hear that."

She patted my back. "It's my job. I may not show you all the time that I love and care about you, but I do. It's unconditional sister love." She patted my back once more before letting me go. "Alright, get ready, we only got an hour before school starts, and I know that you want to talk to your friends and all that."

I nodded my head before she got up and left out of my room. I rubbed my face before sighing softly and running my fingers through my hair.

I needed a break from everything.

-

"Hey, uh, Jaden." I said, getting his attention. Science was one of the classes only me and him had.

"Hey. You feeling better?" He asked.

I sighed. "Yeah, a little. I'm healing slowly."

"Excuse me, but, Jaden and Aleiah, can I have you two please go to the supply closet and bring back the Bunsen burners and scalpels, and the other instruments? We're running low on supplies today." Ms.Ho asked as she approached us.

"Um, sure." Jaden answered before we stood up and left to the supply closet after Ms.Ho gave us hall passes.

"So, what did you want to tell me back in class?" Jaden asked.

"Uh, nothing really." I lied quickly. Jaden chuckled.

"Aleiah, come on. I know you. What's going on?"

I hesitated as I debated inwardly on if I wanted to tell him how I really felt, or if I wanted to lie and assure him that I was okay.

Stupidly, I blurted out:

"I think that I love you."

I quickly covered my mouth as Jaden's eyes visibly went wide in surprise.

"Wh-what?" He couldn't even speak.

"N-nothing. Nothing, forget that I said anything." I walked away quickly to the supply closet. My face was flushed red.

This is almost more embarrassing from when I was painted blue.

Jaden😍

"I think that I love you," kept repeating in my mind. Aleiah loved me? Or at least thinks she does. Either way, this surprised me so much, even though I knew eventually that one of us would finally confess our feelings to the other.

But what's crazy is...

I think that I love her too.
