"I can do bad all by myself. That's all I need myself. I didn't need you then, and I don't need you now." Zac looked sad. I didn't stop running. I kept going; I couldn't stop myself. How nice he decides to try and comes back into my life after all these years of pain. I keep running until I reach an open field. I crouch down low in the tall grass and look around quietly to see if Zac followed me. When I noticed he hadn't followed me, I popped in my earbuds and laid down in the tall grass, and put on the song "Lost Boy" by Ruth B

Halfway through the song, I hear rustling behind me. I tilt my head slightly to the right to see a husky looking down at me. I tense up when I notice its teeth are bared. I slowly turn over to my stomach and start to crawl backward slowly. The husky followed my every move. The dog looked at me with eyes full of hostility. I crawled back even more.

Bit by bit fear, consumed, my judgment and it was too late. I screamed and attempted to escape. The husky lunged at me and tore the flesh off my upper shoulder with its fangs. I called in pain, and blood oozed from the wound. The ear-piercing scream made the husky yelp weakly. I inched away as it came closer to my face with its teeth bared. It's bared teeth slowly started to fade as it began to lick the wound. I winced away, not afraid of the husky but of infections. The injury is clean, and the next thing I know, I see Zac running out of the forest looking at me. The husky stands in front of me with its teeth bared at Zac.

I try to distract it, but it launched itself at Zac. Teeth bared, the husky charged at Zac. It lunged and bit his ankle, and for a split second, I saw some blood. Zac let out a groan before giving the husky a solid punch on its nose. It whimpered, pathetically, and let go, stalking off to God knows where.

Zac's POV

I hear Zuz- Zoey scream and the growl of an animal. I quickly run to her aid, not caring about anything else but Zoey at that moment. When I get there, I see Zoey bleeding from her upper shoulder. I push through the trees to see a husky staring at me with its teeth bared. It lunges at me and rips the flesh of my ankle. I groan and look at the husky giving it a solid punch on the nose. It begins to walk off to wherever. "Zoey, are you okay?" I walk over to Zoey and try to pick her up bridal style. She pushes me away and gets up on her own. "I'm not dying," she says coldly, as she begins to walk away holding her shoulder. I limped after her, trying my best not to fall. Despite all my best efforts, I tumble to the ground. I lay there moaning in pain. I look up to see Zoey looking down at me. She extended her hand towards me, and I took it. Zoey pulls me up and hooks her arm around my back, taking my other arm and wrapping it around her neck. She whimpered when my arm touched her upper shoulder. She hobbled along with me as I yelped in pain.

I limp along. Zoey didn't once look at me. Instead, she looked at the sky that was in front of her. As we stagger down the street, I notice we're heading to her house. She sets me down on her porch and walks inside, coming back ten minutes later with a bottle of alcohol, gauge, paper towels, a wet towel, and Coban Self-Adherent Wrap. She sat down next to me and poured half the bottle of liquor on my wound. I yelled out in pain as she did so, blood drained from the injury. It was painful, and I'm pretty sure a smile was pasted on Zoey's Face. She wiped the wound carefully with the paper towels. She dropped the paper towel and picked up the gauge. She placed it carefully on the wound and grabbed the Coban Self-Adherent Wrap. She set it on the injury and put her hand on it heavily. She wrapped it around my ankle and pulled it tightly. I winced, and she smiled brightly. "Well... there you go,"  she says passively.

Okay, I'm Zac, and I don't have a good relationship with my friend, ex-best friend, Zoey. There was a time when we were close, close like music and dancing, but I watched as something terrible happened to her, and I didn't do anything to prevent it. I smiled as it happened. Once it was over, I walked away as though nothing happened. Eventually,  I started to feel bad and wanted to apologize, but I couldn't find the time of the day to give to Zoey. She is beautiful, but there are the other girls on the cheerleading team I have to deal with, like for instants, Chanel. She's the head cheerleader, and she's always trying to get with me.

Chanel is pretty herself, but I'm more for Zoey. Chanel will probably flip out since I'm supposedly going out with her. Zoey does her best to avoid me anytime possible. Speaking of Zoey, I looked over at Zoey to see her holding her shoulder. She looks at it and picks up the bottle of alcohol. I grabbed the wet towel and rolled it into a cylinder. I take the drink from her and hand her rolled-up towel, beckoning her to put it on her mouth. As she bites down on it, I poured the rest of the alcohol on her wound. She screamed, but the towel muffled it quite a bit. I finished pouring the drink and grabbed the gauze, putting it carefully on her wound. I grabbed the adherent wrap and wrapped it around the wound, holding the gauze in place. Once finished, she took the stuff inside and came back with a pair of crutches. She raised them and tossed them to me. I looked at them then at her, but she was already gone. I grabbed the crutches and hoisted myself up. I looked down and stalked away, using the crutches to support myself and keep my foot off the floor. I won't give up. I never will.
