Present day;

Luna pushed Drake off her to break the kiss. "What are you doing?" She asked, falling backwards into the sand. He looked at her, mostly confused as he pushed away from her. She wiped some of hair out of her face, "What? I thought.." She staggered to stand up on her feet. He wanted to help her but he could see she was just in an intoxicated state. "How is this happening?" Drake questioned, unsure if Luna was just making it up. Luna shrugged with her head dropped. "Sarah.. she.." Drake moved slowly towards Luna and gently asked, "We're talking about Elder Sarah? Creator of Distortion Sarah?" He calmed down after realizing Luna had chosen him over Nick. Regardless of the circumstances of why he was chosen, Drake was suppressing his euphoric emotions. Luna nodded but didn't look up, "She came to me.. she told me.." she sniffled a bit and caught her breath. "What did she tell you Luna?" Drake poked for more information. He was confused, firstly at why she would tell him if she didn't expect such a reaction from him. Luna composed herself and turned to face the moon, "She didn't say how or when.. she just gave me a choice, told me to leave the Main Chambers the night after the dinner if I wanted to save you," He walked up behind her calmly. "But, how did you know I was going to go...?" he asked, knowing the answer himself but wanting to hear Luna say it. She turned her head to the side, the moon providing a silhouette of her face profile, "Drake..." she exhaled, wrapping his jacket tighter around her body to keep her warm. He moved to stand next to her and sat down on the floor. She looked down at him as he stared vacantly out to the ocean. Luna moved to sit next to him, kneeling down on the sand and taking a moment to enjoy the soft repetitiveness of the waves. She pushed some of her hair back to one side of her face, and looked at Drake. "I know you feel.. something.." she began. He had his feet spread, slightly dug into the ground with his arms resting on either of his knees. He picked up sand in his hand and let it fall between his fingertips, repeating the process. He turned his head to her, "It started out as something..." he muttered. "It didn't come down to a personal choice. It was a matter of saving lives. I didn't want to choose to loose either of you," She put her hands in her lap feeling deflated. Drake nodded and looked away, realizing that the kiss was a bad idea because she wasn't choosing Nick over him because she had feelings, but because of a decision to protect others. He felt like an idiot. "I'm sorry you had to pick me," he snapped bitterly at her. She let out a deep sigh and he felt bad for being abrupt at her. "Look, Luna, I'm sorry.." he turned to her and reached for her hand which she held onto in her lap. "I just don't like seeing you upset, and if its because of me... or even.. Nick," he hesitated saying his name just because he didn't want to mention him around her if he could help it, but he had to be mature and address the situation at hand. "If Eville is coming here, I need to know about it, I need to warn the Elders," He shook his hand in her lap to emphasize the urgency of the situation. "Fae will see... it's already happening," she said soberly, looking up at Drake. He looked into her eyes as hers darted back between his. He heard her words but found her to be distractedly radiant, her hair tousled to the side as her face was luminescent from the oceans reflection of the moon. He could see her eyes welling up, "You have to stop putting so much pressure on yourself," She dropped her head, "I've had a lot on my shoulders since I found out my father was lying to me and I had a family.. and I have these abilities," She held out her arms. "Just take them away from me, I don't want them anymore," she shuffled closer to Drake, "Please, just take this away," she cried and he gently grabbed her arms and lowered them. "But then you wouldn't be you," She was tired of being the person everyone was looking up to, and she was upset that a choice had to be made. He wasn't sure what he could say or do to make her feel better but the Elder part of him kicked in, "If something is happening to the Elders, I need to get back," He looked at the Main Chambers, unable to see anything going on. "No Drake, no," she begged, grabbing onto his leg as he stood up. He looked down at her, "My vision was in daylight," He stood resisting, "Oh? So why did you bring me here?" He softened, letting the fighter adrenaline run out, "I was told.." he dropped back down on the sand and looked at her trying to hide a cheeky smile. "You just wanted me all by myself.. on the beach... at night," he insinuated trying to lighten the mood while brushing sand off his hands. She stuttered, trying to re-inform Drake of her purpose, "No.. no I-I just had to.." She could see he was amused and it brought a small smile to her face, he whacked his arm playfully. "Drake, I am serious. There's real danger-" he just kept on smiling and she couldn't help but be annoyed at his brash behavior. "Drake, stop, I'm being serious here," He started laughing at her. "Luna.. we are always surrounded by danger. You could control the moon and hold us all down while you absorb all our powers and take over the world... but you don't do that, because your a good, kind hearted person who cares," His face dropped to be a bit more serious but still with a smile as he continued, "It's people like Eville and the others in Fernbrooke that we have to question their motives. Why are they doing this? Why are they are us?" "It's because of Payton..." she mumbled. Drake nodded, "Yes, I think he has been a key to a lot of things going on lately," "It was so bizarre. One day he's an arrogant asshole, the next.. he's apologizing and seems like a decent human being. Who is the real Payton?" Drake let out a chuckle, "No one knows. Besides Fae, he barely talks to the rest of the other Elders. Since Sarah... well, left... he's focus has changed a lot," Luna looked out towards the water, "What do you think he wants of me?" Drake smirked cheekily, "Probably to use you as his power puppet. Kill Eville, get Sarah, come back here, live happily ever after," Luna didn't feel the same may and solemnly replied, "There's no such thing as happy ever after," Drake leaned forward, "That's not true Luna," She shrugged, "I should be locked up. You should've left me in isolation," Drake shook his head, "I couldn't leave you there," he soothed. "What if I absorb everyone's power in Distortion? I could be just as deadly as Eville and his guys..." Drake put his arm around her and pulled her into him, not fueling the negative discussion. She welcomed his warmth as she leaned her head on his shoulder. "You are a strong, beautiful woman Luna who I've come to enjoy the company of. You could be the deadliest woman in the universe, and I'd still be here... waiting..." She lifted her head and looked at him. "I can't take your ability.. but you can take what I have if you want.... I don't mind a burly woman," he laughed loudly as he joked at Luna's expense. Luna appreciated his attempts to improve the mood. His sensitivity towards others was a welcomed trait. She lifted her head, "I don't need to have bulky muscles to be stronger than you," she said, using her telekinesis to push him gently as if  she pushed his arm to make him sway. He looked at her with a grin, the white of his teeth glowing in the moonlight. "That's not fair play," he antagonized. She pushed him with her hands, but he anticipated her moves and held his position. Much like an arm wrestle, they fought hard against each other to remain as solid as rocks. Luna's competitive nature encouraged her to readjust her positioning so she faced Drake as she continued to push him. He just laughed out loud, which only made her more furious that she wasn't winning which he knew and used to his advantage. Luna continued to push but she wasn't strong enough to fight against him. She was pushing him with her torso twisted and it was seeming like no use as Drake had the dominant position, so Luna stood up to push him over. She took a little tumble backwards on the long dress and the sand but she caught herself. She squinted her eyes at Drake, taking aim and ran towards him with fuddled steps. He could foresee her attempt to push him over was not going to end well if he didn't give in.  She leaned down onto his shoulders and he folded his arms over his knee and sat like a rock. She struggled against him, shuffling in the sand as her feet dug in. He continued his resistance laughing at her, make Luna angrier and she nearly toppled over him so he dropped his stability and she fell down on top of him, landing on his chest. Loose locks of hair fall in front of her face which Drake delicately moves behind her ear as she pushes herself up. He lifts himself up at the same time as her, following her movements as they meet face to face, barely an inch apart. She looks into his eyes and he looks into hers. He knew that there was a good chance Luna could react poorly, but he felt it was worth it and leaned in for a slowly for a kiss. She didn't shove him away so he took that as a sign to continue and pressed his soft lips into hers. Luna yielded to Drake's touch under the moonlight. With a light head she let her inhibition go long enough to enjoy the contact of Drake's hand moving down her body running over the silk dress. He moved his free hand behind her head to hold her firmly as their tongues collision against one another. Drake reached for her arms and rolled her over on the sand. He gave her a little tickle as she tumbled onto her back. She let out a laugh, opening her eyes slowly to see red in the sky above Drake's hair. She moves her head sideways and he takes it as an invitation to nibble on the nape of her neck, but she notices there are red balls in the sky. She enjoys the grazing of his small stubble across her chest as his lips move across the edge of her skin although She doesn't move as she tries to work out what she is looking at. Luna realizes she is a bit tired so she thought she was seeing things but no matter how many times she looked there were some sort of red balls coming down in the sky. Drake stops, checking to see if Luna had fallen asleep and notices her locked eyes. He rolls onto his back next to her and sees what she sees. "Oh wow.." he admires, noticing the unusual colourful sky. "What is that?" She questioned, not sure if her eyes were playing tricks on her. "Is the sky on fire?" She added to her list of questions she had.
