Footsteps move through the halls of what appears to be a large University, his feet move swiftly, the black shoes clicking along the hall beneath the white lab coat. Professor Alexander Eville walks, his eyes hidden behind his glasses looks down, reading another book on science as he walks towards his classroom. "Morning Professor," a young student greets passing him by, as do others on his way to the classroom. He does lift his eyes off his book as he is greeted, but nods as he hears them. A distant bell can be heard and he puts his book down, putting it under his arm as he opens the door. He walks into a large classroom where 10 students are sitting, a few of them taking and joking among themselves as he walks into the room. The professor's hair is shorter than present day and he puts his book on the desk in front of the room. The students don't quieten down as he walks in by stop once he projects an image with physic equations relating to the study of matter and its motion through space time onto the classroom wall. As he begins his class, speaking of on the study of motion just as he looks over the rim of his glasses, he sees a young student moving three scrunched up pieces of paper in the air as if he were juggling them but without his hands. Some of the students gasp in amazement, having never seen someone manipulate matter and gravity. "Mr. Michael Anderson, would you please stop that and concentrate on the class?" He nods but laughs under his breath, he sits near a pretty blonde girl who he is clearly trying to impress who smiles hopelessly back at him. "Now class, Newtonian mechanics," before he continues, the blonde girl lets out a laugh as Professor Eville reaches for his pointer but it moves just out of reach on the desk. He looks at Michael who can be seen putting his hand down. Frustrated and annoyed, Eville walks up to him, "Will you just sit forward and concentrate, stop using your mind to move my-?" He demands but cuts off as he grabs the boys head with his hands and facing him forward as he body was turned and sitting more relaxed on the chairs. The boys face freezes, he begins to shake and Eville's eyes closes, his body shaking rapidly as he begins to absorb the boys powers. The students squeal and recoil in horror, moving away from the area and some fleeing the room altogether just as Elder Drake walks into the room. Although he is much younger that he is in Distortion and does not have an elder robe on. He is wearing military camo gear, as is Stevens who walks in behind him, also looking much younger and less buff. Eville lets go of Michael who falls to the ground, his body lifeless collapsing just as Eville is taken by Drake and Stevens, being pulled out the room. He uses his new found ability against Stevens, throwing him across the hall as Drake manages to pull him out of the room. After a struggle to get away, Drake has his strong hold on Eville just as Stevens joins him. They throw him into the back of a car which looks similar to a paddy wagon with blacked out windows, and Eville is swiftly driven away from the University. He bangs on the back door, crying out for answers having not met Drake and Stevens before. His efforts are useless and he soon realizes there is no chance of getting away. He sits quietly in the back of the car for the rest of the drive, not sure who these people are or exactly what happened to Michael.
The car stops, he hears the tyres squeal as they halt and he hears the two front doors close, followed by the back door being opened. The sunlight bursts into the back of the car and Drake jumps in, grabbing Eville by the collar like a dog and walking him out of the car. Eville can see Stevens in front of him with a dense forrest in the background. As he passes the car, he sees a sign, "Fernbrooke Facility," which he says out loud just as Drake handcuffs him, putting electronic cuffs on him. The handcuffs light up as he is walked into the building. He passes through a check in/out system and is walked through, passing rooms of people in blue scrubs. He is taken directly into a room out the back of the facility. His glasses fall to the end of his nose, making the florescent lights slightly hurt his eyes. He is stopped at double doors which Stevens navigates to open, as he does so, Eville is walked in front of a large oval desk, there are many men and women situated around it. Drake roughly guides him into a seat in front of them all and joins the rest situated around the table. Stevens remains by the door, standing stiffly and facing forward. "Where am I? Who are you people?" Eville says in a worried voice. "Professor Alexander Eville. Born 1934. Mother, Heather Eville and father Aaron-" Elder Payton begins reading from a manilla file when Eville intrudes, "I didn't ask who I was," The main in front him smiles, "Your ability has gotten the better of you Professor. You killed a young man today," he shook his head, "No, no," "This crime has been committed today and you are therefore being committed to Fernbrooke Facility from here onwards under the watchful eye of the Council," he opened his hands, gesturing to the others sitting at the table. Eville looked at each of them, "Wh-what did I do?" He asks innocently, his forehead creasing as he lets out a weep. "You have the ability to absorb others powers and to use them using the contact of your hands," Eville touches his hands, feeling the rubber on them and looks back, "We did that for our protection Alex," A woman sitting closely beside Payton remarks. He looks at her, she is middle aged with her emerald green eyes looking back at him not threatening. He appreciated that she spoke to him like he wasn't a killer, even though he was. He half smiles towards her and she reciprocates with a smile back. As his eyes move from hers, it drops as he looks back at Payton, "So am I a prisoner here?" Payton nods, "More or less, you will be kept here. You cannot control your absorption or other abilities you temporarily gain," "Wait, so even after killing Michael Anderson, I don't keep his power?" Eville questions curiously, the woman responds, "His yes, you will keep his because you held on enough to take his life. If you had done it for oh... say 30 seconds, you would only absorb enough of his ability to last you about an hour before it burnt out," "You are dangerous," Drake spat at Eville, he looked over at him with distaste in his eyes, feeling the anger to jump up and attack Drake increasing. "We will move you to isolation for at least 48 hours, until you are deemed fit to leave where you will be free to speak with the others," "Others?" Eville perked up questioning. The idea that there were others with abilities he could absorb and use excited him at his new prospects. He was hoping to find the right one to get him out. ''Yes, there are others Alex here much like you...'' The woman replied, noticing no one else was going to. ''But thankfully for the rest of us, you won't be able to harm us with your ability,'' Payton was quick to add, looking over and giving a quick nod to Drake. Drake stood up, walking over to Eville and picking him up, taking him out of the room. He glanced back at the woman one last time, he was intrigued by her and enticed by her sweet face. There was something about her he appreciated, perhaps it was the simple way she smiled. He relished the image as he was taken away.
