I groaned as I hit snooze on my alarm. It was 5:30 in the morning. I groaned even loader. "Why does high school start so early?" I asked while pulling my sheets to the side. I stretched and headed into the shower.

I let the warm water run down my skin for a few minutes. I hopped out as soon as I was done. I grabbed my towel and wrapped it around my body, heading for my closet. I put on a black tank top with a purple, long sleeve, sweater and blue jean short. I grabbed a purple beanie and put on purple and grey supras.

It was getting cold outside, a nice breeze. I loved it. It was mid-October and Halloween was just two weeks away.

I jogged downstairs towards the kitchen. I grabbed a pack of oatmeal and the rest of the milk in the fridge. I put it in the microwave to let it cook. It was chocolate chip. I love chocolate. When it was done I let it sit for a few seconds and started eating it. My mom was talking with someone upstairs. I decided to ignore it just in case she is still mad at me.

AT SCHOOL

I walked up to the school. I was least expecting Joel to open the door for me. I didn't realize that I completely lost track of where I was going because I ran into the glass door. I heard two girls behind me giggle. They walk right pass me and open the door without letting me get out of the way. They hit my thigh and scrapped my hip. I hissed, in pain as I pulled myself up.

Where's Reed?

In these situations Reed is usually here. I frowned and walked into the hallway. I heard music playing. The song was "Invincible." I rolled my eyes and walked towards my locker. Invincible was a song Joel wrote. I didn't want to hear it right now, or ever, I also heard people chanting.

I followed the noise into the chorus room. Reed was being pushed by four girls toward Ciara.

I knew it.

He held his ground. The heels of his shoes glued to the ground. I smiled. I was deep in thought when I saw a girl with blonde hair. Which I remember was the girl that sat behind me in 6th period. The girl I thought Reed was staring at. "Kiss her" She demanded."We all know you like her" she yelled over the crowd that was chanting,"kiss her."

I didn't think anyone knew I even walked through the doors until a girl walked up to me and pushed me out of the room. While she was pushing me out my arm got scratched with the door handle. I winced. It drew blood. "How does a door handle even do that?" I said angrily to myself, as I gripped my arm and walked over to the bathroom. When I was about to open the door Liana walked out. She saw my cut. "Awe" She laughed. I glared at her.

"Did you do that to yourself? Good. You shouldn't be here anyway" she laughed prancing off.

I turned so I would be facing her back. I didn't know what got into me but I gripped onto her shoulder and turned her around so she would be facing me.

"Look, Li-bitch. I am done with your torment and everyone else's bullcrap. They follow you all around and do whatever the hell you ask them to. And I'm done" I pushed her back. "Their like your little puppets and you the puppeteer" I said pushing her back again.

She laughed. "I am aren't I" she smirked. I huffed and balled up my hands into fist. My hands took over. I punch her right in the lip. She fell backwards and her head hit a locker. She winced in pain. Everyone who was in the hallway looked in my direction. I saw Reed. He had a smirk across his lip. I don't remember anyone coming out from the chorus room. I saw Joel a shocked expression plastered on his face.People gathered in a circle to see if Liana was okay. I rolled my eyes but then realized what I have done.

I have never hit a person, not even my own sister. I never got detention, suspended, or bad grades. That's why everyone laughed at me. They knew I wouldn't do anything to them. All that changed when I met Reed.

I was about to run past the crowd. Of course, Liana's poise pushed me back and blocked the way. I saw a dean come running and a few teachers.

"Who did this?" the dean asked. Everyone but Reed said my name. The dean grabbed me by my arm.

"Hold up" I heard a familiar voice say over the crowd of kids booing me.

"Excuse me?" the dean asked, Reed.

He spoke,"Liana deserved that" He pointed at a wounded Liana. "She is always making fun of anyone who is not on her level. Someone she knew will be better then her in the future. I think it's good that Ellie did that. The bitch deserved it" Reed smirked. My mouth dropped. I never heard Reed curse, ever.

"What did you just say" the dean let go of my arm. I smiled. "I said the bitch deserved it" Reed repeated. His arms crossed. The dean grabbed his arm and pulled him in my direction. He didn't resist. "Let's go you two" the dean said.

Everyone else got to class. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Joel was kneeled over Liana saying something. She pushed him away, pointing in my direction.

Why does he even like her? I thought to myself. I felt Reed nudge me. I smiled. "Thank you" I whispered. We followed the dean into the office. Reed went in first and the door closed behind him. My leg shook as I sat outside waiting for my turn. I didn't know what was going to happen.

What would my mom say? She's already mad at me.

I heard the doorknob jiggle and out came Reed. I stood up and faced him. He shrugged, smirking, still. He hugged me and sat down on the chair next to me. "Ellie" the dean said. She held the door open for me. I followed her into the office and sat down. She asked me a few questions on why I did it. All that jazz.

"Here" she rolled her eyes. I laughed at myself. I guess she didn't expect me to do that. She handed me two slips. A suspension one and a dress code violation. "Dress code?" I asked. She nodded. I rolled my eyes. "Why" I asked, I sighed. "First don't roll your eyes at me and second your pants are to short" I rolled my eyes again. "Fine" I got up and headed back to where Reed was sitting.

"What you get?" he asked. I showed him my paper. "Dress code?" He asked. I nodded. "Your shorts aren't even short" He pointed at my shorts. I gave him a, I know right, look. "I got suspended too" He said. My mouth dropped again. "For real?" I asked. He nodded smirking. He didn't seem the least bit worried. I shrugged it off, grabbed my backpack and followed Reed outside the school.

"My mom said she can pick us both up, is that fine" He looked at his phone. I shrugged.

15 minutes later Reed's mother comes and takes us home.
