"Did you see the Daily Mail??"

"What did they print now?"

I could hear Noels tired voice over the phone. Since Noel's morning show interview we had made the front cover on the gossip rags almost every day. If it wasn't topless pictures of me on the beach during a day off, taken with a telephoto lens, it was a picture of Noel talking to a girl with the headline 'Caught cheating, just days after gushing about his love'.

"Oh nothing, I am just lesbian and Jessica is pregnant with our love child."

"You have to stop reading those rags babe." I could tell he was getting a little irritated.

"Well you are not the one who gets dissected every time one of us so much as photographed." Even when the magazines was dishing on Noel's alleged infidelity they managed to make me be the one who looked bad. And this lead to Noel's legions of fan-girls to blame me for everything. Noel looked tired in a picture meant that I was obviously harassing him. Even when they claimed he cheated on me that was because I was such a terrible person.

"I know. I know. I am sorry honey."

"It is not your fault, I am sorry too. I don't even know why I let it get to me, but it is just so constant."

"You have three days off this weekend don't you?" Noel changed the subject.

"Yeah."

"Why don't you come and meet me in Paris, and we can do touristy or just lock ourselves into my suite at the hotel." I could tell by his voice that he was getting excited and that he was genuinely trying to cheer me up. "On Sunday we could go under cover at the festival we are playing, for old times sake."

"Maybe. I will have to ask Jessica."

"Already done, she was actually the one who came up with the idea she should have a train ticket to Paris for Friday morning for you too."

"Are you guys talking about me behind my back?"

"Only because we love you and are a little worried." It was the first time he had used the word love to my face, yes I was going to count an over the phone conversations as face to face.

"You love me, huh?"

"You already know I do."

"Great subject changer you sneaky little bastard." Me calling him bastard made him laugh, and I could imagine the spark in his blue eyes as he did.

"Well the real question here is if you love me too or not?"

"You know I do."

"Not unless you tell me."

"Okay." I gave in easily. "I love you."

"Thanks babe, love you too. I really need to go now, but I am glad you finally told me how you feel." I could feel his smile through the phone as he once again laughed at me and told me he would see me in Paris on Friday.

When I arrived in Paris mid-day on Friday I immediately knew that something was wrong. Noel hadn't answered his phone all morning and hadn't even texted me to say he was on the way to the train station. Noel was supposed to meet me at Gare du Nord, but when I arrived on time to a crowded platform without having reached him, he was like I suspected, nowhere in sight.
