Didn't we almost have it all? [Completed]

Present day

As I was getting ready to go out with Jessica that evening I found myself googling 'Noel Wilson declares his love for Edie' to find the familiar interview of him from when we had just decided that we were going to be open about us being a couple. After we broke up I had comforted myself by watching it several times a day. Even though it had been almost a full year, I couldn't help myself and still watched it regularly.

After the tour ended we had spent the summer apart, yet again playing European festivals. Even though the media and fans had caught on that we were an item we hadn't publicly confirmed anything or talked about our relationship in interviews.

The night before the interview he had called me and asked me if it was okay that he talked about me as his girlfriend on air the following morning as he was going to be on the BBC Radio 1 morning show.

The video showed Noel comfortable sat next to Richard with headphones and a microphone in his face while the show host blabbered on about their upcoming headline set at Glastonbury before switching subject to ask the boys how it felt being away from family, friends and significant others for so long.

"I know you have been on the road for a few months already, just wrapping up your arena tour before going straight onto headlining European festivals all summer. How is it being away from home for such a long period of time? Missing your mums?"

"You learn to deal with it a bit I think, technology makes it a lot easier these days. Of course I miss my family and friends, but through Facetime or Skype I can talk to them face to face which helps." Richard shrugged

"Yeah, what he said." Noel said nodding.

"What about girlfriends then, intimacy must be hard through the screen?"

"I was lucky enough that my girlfriend was with us during the first leg of the tour." At this point you could clearly see Noel's cheeks getting a little rosy from what it sounded like he was insinuating.

Quick to grab a possible scoop the host continued. "Is this the beautiful Edie Andrews we are talking about?" Noel didn't have to answer that one as his face and Richards laughter said it all.

"You look like a man in love" the host declared to even more laughter and a small nudge from Richard.

By this point it wasn't just Noel's cheeks that were red but his entire face.

"Well what can you say, she has completely swept me off my feet."

"You should hear the way he talks about her, this isn't just a man in love, he is whipped." Richard piped up.

"Does she know that you are announcing your love for her on live radio?"

"She didn't but I guess she does know." Noel, still blushing, looked sheepishly into the camera.

"Well you heard it here first! Noel is in love with Edie. I think that qualifies for a love song, any suggestions?" With that the video cut of, and I was left staring at a picture of Noel and Richard and an icon saying if I didn't press cancel another interview with Noel would start playing.

I hit cancel.

I felt like a masochist for re-watching the interview yet again, but it was just something about seeing his innocent blush and hearing him say I had swept him off his feet. It also re evoked the feeling I had felt in my heart when I had realised he was in love with me. At that point in our relationship we hadn't yet said the L word to each other, and for him not denying it in front of a camera had meant a lot to me at that point.
