    Dare POV

The Pokeball was the loneliest spot to be ever.

I've been in there for at least two days now, starving and lonely and miserable. I was only able to get water when drops from the rain found its way through the crack and fell inside, shrinking at my feet. And I knew something must have happened to the others, since they would have come after me, wouldn't they?

Maybe I'll be in here forever. Maybe I'll die in here, and someone will open it ten years later to find me. Maybe Aurora, Ben, Shadow, and Sapphire were the ones who were dead, and I was very close to seeing them again.

I'm furious at the idiots who made Pokeballs. Why can't they be opened on the inside? Stupid humans.

    I... I don't want to die.

    Shadow POV

I stared at my paws, which were caked in dried mud. I struggled to remember what happened.

Dare is gone and you and Sapphire fell down the mountain, my self-conscious roared.

Instantly I leapt to my feet, wheeling around. I was in a grass nest, with lumber stacked up around me to make a sort of den. Sapphire was sleeping next to me in another nest, so I immediately slapped her. "Wake up!"

"Wha- what?" She groaned, opening her amber eyes and rolling over. "Everything hurts..."

"Do you know where we are?" I asked nervously, casting a glance out the doorway.

She sat up. "Oh no, I hope Dare's not dead, or Aurora or Ben!" She cried.

We froze as a Spearow appeared in the doorway. He blinked.

"I'm Glide," he said. "You are in Spear Sanctuary-"

    "Spear what?" Sapphire snapped.

"-and I have to, like, lead you around," he finished. "You've both been unconscious for two days. I think you might have both hit your heads on rocks. Everyone says you fell down a mountain. Did you?" He suddenly looked interested.

"Well, yes, but we were trying to save our friend."

"Nobody told me another Pokemon fell," Glide said.

"Well, that's because he was in a Pokeball."

"Ah," said Glide, fiddling with his wings. "I see."

The Spearow said nothing more to us, so I said, "I'm sorry, but I really don't know where we are."

"Spear Sanctuary," said Glide, "is a place in Idle Woods made by Spearows and Fearows and whatnot. We live here and heal Pokemon that need help."

"Will you help us find Dare?" Sapphire asked eagerly.

"Most likely," Glide agreed. "But I'll have to show you around later."

    "Why?" I asked.

"The medicine we gave you will make you really tired."

"That would make sense," said Sapphire, swaying on her feet. The next thing we knew we were both in a dreamless sleep.

    Dare POV

I was surrounded by blue light during the second day. My heart soared as my paws landed on solid ground, and I instantly wheeled around to look at my savior.
