Songs are so hard to write
Need a verse and a chorus
I don't know how not to rhyme
Though I write songs for us
You'd think it'd come easily
Like poetry or stories
But there's so much to convey
With struggles not to be boring
Then there's structure and content
Followed by tune, beat, and chords
Don't forget rhyming for contentment
And still portraying what's yours
Rapping is like poetry
But if you can't rap like me
Then you'll have a harder time
Finding out how to be free
Another poem complaining
But it's better than an author's note
Because you'll see some art
Maybe comment and vote
But here's how I feel
When I write what I feel
Now go write a song
About eyes being teal
I mean it. Write a song about teal eyes. I'm going to do it. You do it. (The song is in my book My Songs, as are all the other songs I've written.)
