Chapter 15: Why?

Aaron's POV

    It's only two months until mine and Aph's wedding. We planned ahead so that way we won't have to worry about setting things up last minute. Jacob is excited because after the wedding, Aphmau is going to adopt Jacob making him out son. Hers officially though.

    I was just at the store picking something up. Jacob has been getting sick recently. Aph went to the doctor with Jacob while I got the medicine. I ran into someone I didn't want to see. It was Lily.

    "Hey Aaron," Lily said walking closer to me. I honestly felt angry for what she tried to do.

    I ignored her. Yet she kept on talking. "How's my little Jacob?" She asked.

    "He isn't yours anymore," I said coldly.

    "I gave birth to him."

    "YOUR THE ONE WHO SAID YOH DIDN'T NEED A BRAT! YOUR THE ONE WHO DIDN'T TREAT HIM RIGHT! YOUR THE ONE WHO TRIED TO MURDER YOUR OWN SON!" I yelled. I had people looking at us.

    "To think, he likes Aphmau. She gives him the love he needs. She makes sure he's okay. She plays with him. She does everything to keep him happy. What did you do? You used him to get to me," I said angrily.

    "That's not true. I would never do that to our son," she said.

    "Oh so he would just make it up," I asked.

    "He was six. Six year olds have wild imaginations," she finished.

    "Why would he lie," I asked, staring coldly into her eyes.

    I heard Aphmau and Jacob behind me. That's when Lily did the unthinkable. She kissed my lips. I tried to push off, but she griped my shirt.

    I heard Aphmau gasp. I finally was able to push Lily away. Lily smirked. Aphmau put her hand over her mouth and tears formed in her eyes.

    I was about to die when Jacob said," I thought you loved Aphmau?"

    "I do love Aphmau and I love you too Jacob. I just need to expla-" Jacob cut me off.

    "I THOUGHT YOU LOVED HER! I WAS HAPPY THAT YOU WERE GETTING MARRIED! BUT YOU WANT TO GET BACK WITH LILY? WHAT HAPPENED TO WHAT I TOLD YOU! WAS THAT ANYTHING?" Jacob yelled. I could see he was about to cry. His eyes got all red.

    "I would never get back with her. I love Aphmau," I said.

    "If you loved her you wouldn't have kissed Lily," Jacob took Aphmau's hand and they walked away.

    I  turned to see a smirk on Lily's face. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I JUST LOST THE MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN MY LIFE! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT," I yelled. I walked away. I left the store to see Jacob and Aphmau getting into the car.

    "Why? I was happy without Lily. She ruined everything," I thought. I was on the verge of tears. I walked to my car and drove home.

    When I got home, I saw Aphmau on the couch crying. Jacob must have been in his room. I walked upstairs to see Jacob first. I knocked in the door.

    "Jacob, can I come in? I really need to speak with you," I said calmly through the door.

    "GO AWAY," he yelled.

    "Please Jacob," I said more quietly.

    "Go to Lily," he said.

    I walked downstairs to Aphmau. I stood right in front of her. She looked up and looked down almost immediately. I crouched down.

    "Aphmau, look at me," I said.

    "Why should I?" She asked through the tears in her face.

    "Because what you saw earlier was all a miss understanding," Aphmau looked up slightly.

    "I had yelled at Lily before you entered. What she did was so she could get me back and have you leave. Aphmau, I would never do anything to you or Jacob. You two are the most important people in my life. I don't want to lose you," I said. Aphmau looked up. I wiped the tears off her face. She hugged me. I hugged her back. I kissed the top of her head.

    I pulled back from the hug. I placed my forehead into hers. I closed my eyes and I could tell she was staring at me. I grabbed her hand and said,"I love you Aphmau."

    She kissed me and I kissed back. A few seconds later she pulled away and said," I love you too Aaron."

    I looked over to see Jacob on the stairs. His eyes were full of tears. He ran down to me and hugged me.

    "I am sorry," he cried.

    "It's okay. You were mad. I would understand that. I love you. I would never hurt you," I said putting his jet black hair.

    "It's not okay. I yelled a-" I cut him off.

    "You were angry," I said.

    He continued to cry. Aphmau came in and wrapped her arms around me and Jacob. I gave her a kiss. She smiled.

    "Why don't we watch a movie and order pizza?" Aphmau asked.

    "Okay," Jacob perked up.

    " I am fine with that," I said.

    "Cool I'll go order it. Now girls no more fighting," Aph joked.

    "What?" Jacob asked.

    Aphmau giggled as I chased her around the house. I caught her by her waist and pulled her close.

    "What did you say about a girl fight?" I whispered in her ear.

    "Nothing," she replied.

    "Mmmhmm," I said.

    I kissed her then let her go. She ordered the pizza. After it came we found a movie on Netflix and we enjoyed the rest of our night. Jacob fell asleep in Aphmau's lap and Aphmah fell asleep on my shoulder. I carried Jacob to bed first. Then, Aphmau.

    I placed Aphmau in bed. I pulled the covers over her the kisses her forehead. I took off my hoodie and put on sweat pants. I hopped into bed and grabbed Aph's waist. I pulled her closer to me.

    "Goodnight Aaron," she whispered tiredly.

    "Goodnight my Aphmau," I whispered. I fell asleep with Aphmau against me.
