Sydneys POV

I finally pried my eyes open and looked around. Where was I? It was an all white room with an annoying beeping sound. I looked over to my right and saw a breathtakingly handsome guy sitting with his head on my bed. He was holding onto my hand. He started to move and picked his head up. When he saw me he gasped and almost fainted.

                "SYDNEY! Baby you're awake!" he viciously started pressing the call button on my bed. "Nurse. Doctor! Someone! She's awake!" he had the most mesmerizing eyes I had ever seen. They were filled with love and joy. I felt bad for the poor guy. Wait. How did he know my name?

Jacob's POV

When I picked my head up I saw the most beautiful brown eyes looking right back at me. I couldn't wait for the doctor to find out she was awake. I just stared into her eyes until the doctor came in.

                    "How long has she been awake son?" he asked softly. "Not long. I called you as soon as I saw she was awake." he smiled and walked over to Sydney.

                    "Good morning, Sweetheart. How are you feeling?" she gave him a small smile. "I feel pretty good, it's just I'm sore all over and I can't move. Why can't I remember what happened to me? Why can't I remember anything?" I fell into my chair with watery eyes. She didn't remember anything. She didn't know who I was. I finally get the girl I love to be mine and I lose her. I can't handle much more of this. She looked over at me and I noticed she had tears in her eyes. I looked at the doctor and nodded my head telling him to give us some time. I walked over to her and she grabbed my hair and pulled me closer. She was looking deeply into my eyes.

                   "Why don't I know who you are? Why are you crying? Who are you?" I almost fell to my knees. "I don't know, you'll have to ask the doctor about the first one. I'm crying because you finally wake up after all this time and you have no idea who I am. I'm your boyfriend. The guy you've been in love with for...I don't even know how long. I'm so sorry this happened. I should've been there for you and I wasn't. I'm so sorry baby. I'm so sorry. I..." she grabbed my hand and brought it to her lips and kissed it.

                   "I believe you. I really do. It's just I have no proof and I don't want to get hurt." Gosh! I love this girl, and I don't know how I'm going to do this without going insane. I have to be with her. "That's fine. It's okay. I'm willing to wait as long as it takes. We've been friends a lot longer than we've been dating. I think I can wait a little longer. I'd wait forever for you." she smiled at me and squeezed my hand with her other hand.

                    "I'm glad I already have a friend then. You're probably my only one. When is my brother going to come see me? I really want to see him." I inhaled sharply and backed away from her. "I'll go get the doctor for you so you can ask him some questions you might have. Just yell Jake if you need me." she nodded and I walked out the door and told the doctor she had some questions. He nodded and walked into her room.

I went to the waiting room and found Will there sleeping in one of the chairs. I walked over and shook him. He instantly awakened and was at full attention. When he saw it was me he relaxed a little.

                      "What happened Jacob?" he looked scared. "Sydney's awake Will. She doesn't remember who I am and she has no idea that Josh is dead. I don't know what to do Will. I can't live without her and it feels like I'm losing my best friend and the love of my life." he looked at me with sad eyes. "I'm sorry Jacob. I wish there was something I could do. I don't know what to do. She's not going to want me around if she doesn't know I'm supposed to be her bodyguard. That's such a stupid name. I'm her  da*n bodyguard and I couldn't even save her from this." he lowered his head into his hands.
