Enjoyyyyy!
When I came around the corner I all but jumped out of my skin. I was so scared I didn't know what I was supposed to do. Standing in front of me was a large man. I was frozen. It crossed my mind that maybe I should run, but I knew that me running ten feet was like three big steps for this guy. He was looking at me weirdly. I was just about to run when he grabbed my arm. He wasn't holding it tight, but I knew that if he wanted to, he could snap my arm like a twig. I looked up at him.
"Are you Sydney Clarke?" I nodded my head slowly, afraid of what he was going to do. "Good. I've been looking for you." I was about to bolt, but he sensed it and grabbed my other arm. "Don't run, now. All I'm going to do is my job. Jacob Reed hired me as a bodyguard for you. So, I'm not here to hurt you or anything. So, calm down." he smiled at me and I gave a small one back. If he was lying, he was doing a REALLY good job at it. I calmly stepped away from him a little bit, so he wasn't in my face. It was awkward just standing there looking at each other so I backed up a little more and put my back against the wall. He cleared his throat.
"Listen, Mrs. Clarke. I know that you don't want a body guard. No one ever does, but I read about your story and I knew that I wanted to take this job. I'm really sorry about your brother. When Jacob called me I was surprised, because I had just saw it in the paper and knew that it would be a great opportunity, but I didn't expect that I'd actually get to do it. Jacob has filled me in on all the basics. He watches you while he's with you, but when he has to go to another class, I watch you. Is that okay with you?" I nodded my head.
"If Jacob hired you then you must be good. He never let's anything slide. He probably ran a background check on you. I wouldn't be surprised if he knew your great great great great great great great and so on, grandmothers name. He's just that thorough. That's why if I had to get a bodyguard I put all the choosing in his more than capable hands." he chuckled at this. He was tall, lean, very muscular, and I had to admit, he was pretty cute, too. He had beautiful green eyes and perfectly white teeth. I was impressed.
"Well, since your going to be my bodyguard I think I should formally introduce myself. It's nice to meet you sir, I'm Sydney Clarke." I put my hand out and he shook it while introducing his self.
"Hi, Sydney. I'm Will Black, your bodyguard." he did a little salute and I just laughed.
"So, Mr. Black. You look like you just graduated yourself. What brings you back to high school work?" he seriously looked like he was only like 23.
"Well, funny you should ask that. I get that question a lot when people first meet me. I'm actually only 21. I know what you're thinking. Why was this young of a dude hired to watch me? Well, I trained with some of the best. Pretty soon I became the best. No one could beat me at anything. No one still can beat me at anything. When I got to leave the commanding officers said I was one of the best there ever was. They gave me that title, and I intend on keeping it intact and honoring it to the best of my abilities. So, please Ms. Clarke. Don't worry about anyone hurting you. As long as I'm here there should be NO ONE that can get through me. Unless they have an atomic bomb or something, then yeah they'll defeat me, but until that day comes. I will fight harder than anyone to keep you as safe as you can get." I was kind of still stuck on the 'I'm only 21' part. I knew he didn't look that much older than me. In fact he was only three years older than me. Right at that moment Jake decided to come around the corner. When he saw me he had a relieved expression on his face. He came over and put his arm around my waist, and stuck his hand out towards Mr. Black.
"How are you Black?" Will nodded his head and shook Jake's hand. "That's good. I take it you two have officially met, so I'm going to steal Sydney away from you. We have to go to lunch, then class." Will nodded his head, then me and Jake were off.
