After about half an hour Lena and Jenna were tipsy enough off of the Kahlua that they thought they could handle the numbingly, cold showers. They grabbed a change of clothes and some toiletries. Hooking arms they made their way to the bathroom sloshing their drinks along. When they reached the communal bathrooms Lena walked over to the stall and turned on the water. The spray hesitated but eventually came out of the shower head. Lena shrieked. “Is it really that cold?” Jenna asked.
“Fucking freezing!” Lena confirmed.
Jenna took another long sip of her drink. “Well what are you going to do?”
“To be clean or not to be clean. That is the question.” Lena stood there assessing the situation. “Loofah me.” Jenna reached into the bag and handed her the loofah and body wash.
Jenna smirked. “Are you sure?”
Lena nodded her head. “I guess I’m going to live a little.” She then proceeded to strip naked and hopped in the shower. “Holy shit it’s cold.”
Jenna chuckled. “Would me singing to you make it better?”
“I don’t know. Why don’t you try?” Lena sounded out of breathe.
Jenna started singing, “at first I was afraid I was petrified…”
“Real cute Gloria Gaynor. And no it isn’t helping.” Lena yelled through the ancient shower curtain.
“Ah man. I must have messed it up,” Jenna sounded genuinely disappointed. “because I was singing the Cake version.”
“Sorry I should have let you get to the chorus.” Lena said through chattering teeth. “Alright. I’m done. I’m clean enough. Are you getting your dirty ass in here or are you being a baby?” Lena came out of the shower letting the water run and reached for the towel. Her whole body shaking as Jenna stripped and took her turn.
“HOLY MOTHER OF THE LORD!” Jenna screamed. “It is freezing.”
Lena broke out laughing. “What the hell? Did you think I was lying?”
“Brrr.” Jenna responded. “I don’t know I just didn’t think it would be this cold. I didn’t know this cold existed. I think all my pores just slammed shut.” Lena laughed out loud at ease now that her pain was over. Now that Lena was done she could laugh about it. “You know best friends shouldn’t laugh at each other’s misfortunes.”
“Sorry.” Lena said although she didn’t sound sorry. “Shall I sing instead?” Lena offered.
“Do it. Sing for me.” Jenna was chattering in the ice cold shower.
“Nobody knows me I'm cold, walk down this road all alone.” Lena started rapping.
“How is that helping?” Jenna whined.
“Its gettin hot in here, so take off all your clothes. I am gettin so hot, I wanna take my clothes off.” This time Lena was singing, at the top of her lungs. Jenna poked her head through the curtain to watch Lena dancing around the bathroom in her towel. She was clutching her cup with both hands and gulping in between lyrics.
Jenna was laughing hysterically. “You are still in your towel?” Lena stopped singing and looked down the front of her. “How are you not frozen?”
Lena stopped dancing and shrugged. “I’m assuming the alcohol is helping. Finally.”
“You better not have drunk all of it.” Jenna ducked her head back in the shower and pounded the knob into submission until the stream of water stopped. “Toss me a towel.”
