It is true that when you are occupied, you never realise time flying. It is already Thursday today and it feels like I just went to the party. However, I had already received an invitation to another party at one of the football player's house this Saturday to which I said no right away because No! I have a hell lot of work to finish. Besides, last week, I had already turned down the Evans' offer to go over to their's during the weekend and I definitely owe them my presence.
In an attempt of adding something interesting to my high school life, I am going to attend the auditions to join the school band and also the school's oratory club. The auditions to the band would be tomorrow after school and that of the oration will be today an hour after school which means I need to stay back for I don't know how long. I had called Zion and told him that I would be late and since he had something on after the time he usually picks me up, I told him I would get back home on my own. Besides, one of my friends would definitely hang around, I guess?
So the bell to the last period just rang and I got out of the class and walked straight to my locker, dumped my books in, packed the books I need ed for the evening to complete the assignments and walked out towards the gym. I looked around to see if my friends were anywhere to be found but didn't spot even one. Shrugging my shoulders I continued walking to the Interact Club which was right behind the gym. It was where I had to go for the auditions. I walked into the building and there was a sign saying "auditions" and I walked in. Three people were seated and I greeted them and handed over my student ID.
The audition took about half an hour and they were very much impressed with me. I don't know which position in the club I would get but as long as I have something else to do apart from just assignments and studying, I am happy. The audition status would be announced in two days time on the high school website, so I wouldn't have to drop by on Saturday.
It was getting dark and I have no idea how I'm going to get back home. Sarah was absent today because her aunt had come from Atlanta and would be leaving tomorrow. The rest of the group must have been busy. I should have at least told one of them about me having to stay back. I didn't want to disturb Mr.Evans as well. I walked out of the school and walked for about 5 minutes when it started raining. I thought it would just continue to drizzle but it started raining heavily and I didn't find anything around to take shelter under either. Oh crap! How awesome! I continued walking and already found myself drenched. Shivering I continued my walk. Thank God my bag was waterproof! All of a sudden a truck stopped by me and the window came down revealing two men, long hair, tattooed arms, pierced eyebrows with beer bottles in their hands. Oh my God! No don't tell me!
"Hey babe, want a ride, it would be fun!", the guy on the passenger seat called out.
Crap! What have I gotten myself into? Now the only thing I was scared about was if they would just get down, cover my mouth and kidnap me! Oh my! Oh my! What should I do? I should have listened to my mum when she told me to learn some self-defence.
"Babe! Get in! You are wet!"
Oh no! Pervert!
One of them got down of the car and took hold of my wrist. I bet there would have been marks by now, his hands were rough and huge!
"Ouch!" I yelped at the pressure he had applied on my wrist.
"Oh poor baby's hurt! Come let me fix you!" The other guy screamed from the driver's seat.
"Get off me you idiot! Let me go! I don't care about the rain!"
"Ah, domestic cat's turning into a wild cat now!"
