Chapter 15

Zayn's POV



"Where is he?" Daniel motioned for me to come in and walked towards the kitchen where Niall was sitting, frozen completely. I kneeled down beside him. "Ni?"


"He's gone".


"He's been saying those same words for the past hour and he hasn't moved". I pulled Niall up and held him tightly around his waist.


"Are you okay to look after those two?" Daniel nodded and I tugged Niall up the stairs, practically carrying him while I walked into their room and closed the door, sitting on the bed. "Niall what's going on?"


"He's gone".


"Niall, you need to talk to me". I pulled Niall onto my lap and he shoved his face into my chest while I pushed his hair back and he began to sob. "Shh Ni it's okay shh". I kissed his hair while I rocked us back and forth, trying to calm him down. "Shh". His body shook as he cried even harder than before. "It's okay. It's going to be okay. I know it's hard. I wish I had the right words, just know I care. I don't know how you feel, but I am here to help in anyway I can. We all need help at times like this, I am here for you. I'll always be here Ni. I'm always here".


"Lou-ouis l-le-f-ft m-m-meee". He sobbed again and I held him even tighter.


"I'm sure he has a good reason Ni. You know how much he loves you".


"He left me".


"I know mate. It's going to be okay". I looked at his cut wrists and pulled his arm more to me. "What's this?" He pulled his arm from my grasp and whimpered. "Is he the reason?"


"Z-Zayn".


"Did you do this because of him!?" He shook his head and let out another sob.


"I c-ca-n-nt b-elie-v-ve he-he's g-go-n-ne".


"Shh it'll be okay". We sat there for what felt like hours while Niall sobbed against me until he fell asleep. I gently lay him down and carefully closed the door as I walked out the room and down the stairs. "I'll just be out the front for a few minutes". Daniel nodded and I walked outside, dialling Harry's number.


"Hey babe".


"I don't think I can come home tonight".


"Aww why not?" I pictured him pouting and smiled slightly.


"Babe Niall isn't good. I'm sorry. I love you".


"I love you too".


"I promise when I can come home I'll kiss you until I can no longer breathe and hold you until my body goes numb".


"It's a deal. Bye babe I love you"


"Bye I love you more".


"Not possible". I chuckled and hung up, turning around to see Niall looking at me with teary eyes. I figured that he heard my conversation with Harry.


"Oh my god Ni, I'm so sorry I didn't-"


"I just came to tell you that Daniel cooked dinner and it's ready". He walked in the house and I sighed. I followed, closing the door behind me and sat with them at the table. We all ate in silence, apart from Tom and Max trying to get Niall's attention.


"Dada where papa?"


"You need to start learning to talk properly Max. It's where is papa. If you're going to go to school next year then learn how to talk". Max whimpered and stayed quiet.


"Niall you shouldn't-"


"How's school Daniel?"


"Ah, it's fine".


"Dada why you so angry?" Niall moved his knife faster as he cut the meet and huffed.


"I'm not angry". Tom frowned to himself.


"Dada you stop now! You still not remember so you angry?"


"Dada where". Max paused. "Where is papa?" Niall dropped his cutlery on the plate, a clatter echoing through the room.


"He's gone because he doesn't love us anymore! He doesn't care about us so he left okay!?" I could see his eyes tearing up and he got up, walking out the room. I followed him and found him sitting on the floor in his room, looking at a photo from their wedding day. I sat beside him and pulled him into my side as he sobbed again. "He's not coming back, is he?". He sobbed into my Tshirt making it wet yet again. I held him tightly.


"I'm here. It's going to be okay Ni. I'm here". I hate seeing my best friend like this. So broken and hurt. I can't believe Louis would do this. "It's all going to be okay".


"He told me he loved me. He said I wasn't going to lose him".


"You're a beautiful person Ni. You'll be okay". I held him even tighter. "We are Friends

"You're such a romantic".


"The best of 'em all". I shrugged and he breathed out a laugh, turning into a soft cry again. "I'm here Ni. I promise I won't go anywhere".
