Chapter 22

Niall watched as Louis walked through the front door, hopeful to see their little boy but Louis only frowned and shook his head.

"Niall I couldn't find him".

"What if we don't find him?" Niall sat on the couch and Louis joined him.

"Don't think like that Ni".

"The last thing I said to him was that I wish I wasn't his dad Lou". Guilt rushed through Niall.

"We'll find him Ni. Let's go look okay?" Niall nodded and followed Louis out the living room.

"Tommy!" Tom came running in the room and Niall handed him his shoes and coat as Niall got his on. Niall lifted Tom and sat him on his hip as they stepped out the house and began to walk. It felt as though they had been walking around for hours. Niall didn't know what to do with himself as the thought of never seeing his son again just kept taking over his thoughts.

"Dada, where Max?" Niall ignored the question and continued towards the park. "Dada it cold".

"I know Tommy". Niall pulled his phone out of his pocket and dialled Louis' number.

"Any luck Ni?"

"No Lou. I can't find him".

"It's going to be okay Ni".

"I'm going to ring Liam".

"Okay babe. I'll head home now". Niall hung up and called Liam quickly.

"Hello?" Liam croaked out as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

"Li I-" Niall choked out and Liam sighed, looking at the time.

"Niall it's two in the morning what are you-"

"Li, I can't find Max".

"Max? What-"

"Louis took him to the park earlier today and now I can't find him and li I'm so scared can you imagine how he's feeling right n-"

"Whoa Niall calm down Max is here".

"Li I can't handle thi- wait what?" Liam sighed.

"A boy showed up at the door step saying he was asked by you to drop him here and sleep over".

"Li I didn't do that".

"Just come and get him Ni. He's probably still awake I can hear him crying".

"I'll be there in ten Li". Niall couldn't feel more relieved when he heard the words come from the phone. Max was safe. But who was the boy who had taken him to Liam? Niall had never uttered the words for Max to stay over there. He sent a quick text to Louis, telling him he had found Max and would be home soon. Liam didn't live far so before he knew it, Liam was standing before him. Niall handed Tom to Liam and rushed to Max who was looking at Niall in complete shock and surprise. Niall pulled him into a tight hug, kneeling down on the ground. "I'm so sorry Max. I love you. I do want to be your dad. I'm so sorry I said those things to you. I don't hate you. I could never hate you. I'm so sorry". Niall began to cry as he held Max.

"I love you too dada. I do want you to be my dad too". Niall thanked Liam and walked home. Niall put Tom down and went to Max's room.

"I'm sorry Max. I'm so sorry". Niall sat on the edge of his bed and pushed his fingers through his sons hair.

"It is okay dada. I have a note for you". Niall frowned as Max handed him a crumbled piece of paper. "I wasn't allowed to read it. I had to give it to you as soon as you found me. That's what he said". Niall kissed Max's forehead and tucked him in.

"I'm sorry Max. I will never regret being your dad okay?" Max nodded sleepily. "Go to sleep mate. I'll see you in the morning". Niall closed the door and made his way to the bedroom. Louis was fast asleep and Niall smiled at the sight of his husband. He slipped off his clothes until he was in his boxers and slipped into bed, staring at the paper.

Hello Niall and Louis.

I scared you good, didn't I? Well, I told you to stay away Louis. There will be consequences if you return. You should know that. I told you, if I can't have you, no one can. You disobeyed me. I overheard the rumours that you were back, I didn't think they could possibly be true because I made my point clear, I did didn't I? But you didn't listen. Yes Niall. I gave you a panic attack. You should've have taken Louis back. It is also your fault. Next time it could be a lot worse. I could kidnap one of them. Could he Max again or maybe Tom? Which one do you love more? Or I could kill one of them, how does that sound? Well I'm sure you'd love either wouldn't you? With your perfect happy fucking family. Everything is all rainbows and sunshines, two members of One Direction, three boys, living the wealthy perfect life with no problems. I envy you. I fucking envy you. Do you want to live your whole childhood with drunk parents who spend all their money on alcohol and gambling, coming home at all hours of the night and abusing you? Then going to school and getting called names or bashed there too? Well, let's just say I haven't had the best life. So Louis, what will it be? You? Or your beautiful perfect little children?

Niall just stared at the crumbled piece of paper. For hours. Not even realising that the sun began to rise and Louis was watching him curiously. Louis shuffled under the covers and kissed at the hairs just below Niall's belly button, moving down to the waistband of his boxers. Niall jumped in surprise and Tugged at Niall's boxers with his teeth, removing the boxers and his teeth lightly grazing over Niall's shaft. Louis took Niall in his mouth, making Niall clench his fingers through Louis' hair, trying not to scream. Louis bobbed his head up and down moaning as Niall tugged at his hair, vibrations moving up Niall's erection making him thrust his hips and hit Louis' throat. Niall threw his head back in pleasure, moaning as Louis played with Niall's balls in his hands and bobbing his head up and down.

"Fuck Lou". Niall came hard and Louis swallowed.

"Just thought I'd try remove that frown from your face".

"By giving me a blow job?" Louis moved back up and shrugged, smiling.

"Now, why the frown?" Niall sighed and handed Louis the note. Niall watched Louis' features as Louis read on, still worried about the words in the note.

"What do we do Lou?"

The entire family sat in the police station, watching as the officer read the threatening note.

"So this man has threatened you before?"

"Yes sir". Louis nodded. "We just want to protect our family". Louis whispered, holding Max close. Daniel knew what was going on but the two younger boys were confused.

"So he took your boy and you searched for him but couldn't find him, yes?" They nodded. "And he ended up at your friends house with this note?"

"Yes sir". Niall nodded.

"I suggest you don't take your eye off any of your boys, make sure they are always right beside you. You can get a restraining order. That is always a way people go".

"Sir there is a death threat in that letter!"

"Unless he actually attempts to kill one of you I'm afraid there's nothing we can do".
