Okay. So, I have a really quick theory, an it is that corruption acts like a virus. This is because right after Jasper fused with a corrupted gem (who I am going to call crazy lace quartz, according to a theory I found on Pinterest) and started becoming corrupted.
That's really it. I don't know much more... *shrugs*
