after arriving in jeju,
we were welcomed
by the sizzling sun.
the landscape was
breathtaking and
there were many
tourists found
roaming around.
thus, the breeze
topped in with
the radiation of
the sun, rather
refreshing.
i took a few moments to
look around in amazement,
imagining what life would
be if i were to live in jeju.
"jagi."
eunwoo exclaims.
i come to my senses and
realize that eunwoo had
made his over towards me.
"oh, annyeong."
i say with a weary smile.
"it's beautiful here."
he states, while i nod in response.
"eunwoo!"
a voice called out.
it was obviously her.
"can you help me get my things?"
she asked him.
i rolled my eyes in annoyance,
"no he won't."
"sure why not."
he said, ignoring my presence.
i was taken aback at his
sudden movement.
"can't you stay with me?"
i ask him pleasingly.
he only glanced at me
before following behind yerin.
his back faced me while
i watched him walk away.
i was left dumbfounded.
a tear rolled down my cheek,
as i wiped it in an instant.
"class, get in a crowd!"
the teacher had called out.
"we'll head towards the cottages
to drop off our belongings then
we will be guided by tourists after."
she finishes.
i assumed that coming to
jeju would enlighten my
emotions, but it seems
like it's the opposite of
what i had expected.
"are you okay?"
bin asks out of the blue.
"oh, yeah. i'm fine."
i reply weakly,
going ahead of him.
jimin and yoo ri tagged
along and linked their
arms with mine. they
were enjoying the trip
as it seemed.
"gal, are you okay?"
jimin asks.
i didn't answer,
i kept my gaze ahead.
"no you're not."
she says.
"spill the beans."
yoo ri demanded.
i let out a sigh,
"i don't understand why eunwoo
is acting different.
he's been interacting with yerin
lately and he's been avoiding me."
"omo! really?"
yoo ri says.
i nod in response.
"eunwoo!"
jimin shouts,
earning the attention of everyone.
his gaze came towards us
and he made his way over.
although, i couldn't deal
with him therefore, i went
ahead and followed bin.
later that afternoon, we
were settling in groups.
only seven were required
in one group.
the astro members were
paired up, but needed one
more in their group.
they called for me,
until a bobble head beat me.
"can i join you guys?"
yerin asks, a smile plastered
on her fake face.
"sorry but hyunhee-"
rocky was interrupted.
"yeah you can join,
i'm sure hyunhee will
be with her friends."
eunwoo says.
the boys glanced towards
me with confusion written
onto their faces.
"but hyung, i want
hyunhee in our group."
sanha complains.
"it's okay with you right?"
eunwoo questions me.
i look at him with a blank
expression then turned
around to go to jimin and
yoo ri, unfortunately, they
formed a group already.
everyone had a group,
except me.
"sunsaengnim,
i don't have a group."
i say.
she looks around,
but none was available.
"sorry hyunhee, but
you have to be alone."
she says.
i just smile and stood apart
from everyone whom interacted
with one another.
yerin made her way towards me,
"look who's the outcast now."
i smirk at her,
"isn't it you? i mean, you have
to plead for people to accept you."
she glares before turning
her way around and clinged
onto eunwoo.
they looked at me in unison,
and i had a feeling that they
were talking about me.
"sunsaengnim, i'll
partner up with hyunhee."
bin called, walking towards me.
"me too! i want to be
partnered with hyunhee."
sanha joined in.
"me three!"
jin jin calls.
"me four!"
rocky joined.
"me five?"
mj says awkwardly.
it was just eunwoo and
yerin together. i couldn't
help but feel a pang of
jealousy and anger rise up.
seeing them together hurt.
eunwoo, why?
"i'll make sure he regrets doing this."
bin says.
"we'll make you happy."
sanha says, side hugging me.
i smile,
"thank you."
and i felt my hands
fit into a warm pair
of hands, which
belonged to bin.
