the bell rang, signalling
everyone to transfer to
their next class.student by student,
the classroom was in
rush to get out.hyunhee stops her gaze
onto bin whom was also
preparing to leave.they were the only ones left.
she wanted to say something,
but her voice didn't function."what class are you in next?"
hyunhee asks in full courage."p.e but i'll probably skip."
he replies bluntly."where are you going then?"
hyunhee questions."the ice cream parlor."
bin replies.hyunhee had the urge to
tag along. he knew that,
that was their hangout
place."if you skip with me."
bin says, a mischievous
smile plastered onto his lips."of course i will."
hyunhee says in joy.bin chuckles and
they head out of the
class together.
shoulders brushing
against each other.the awkward silence took
over their surroundings.
it wasn't bothersome,
as long as they were near
the presence of each other.hyunhee's stomach had
growled loudly, enough
for passing strangers
to hear."there's a thunder in your stomach."
bin teases with a short giggle."it's cursing at you."
hyunhee replies back.they arrive at the common
ice cream place that they often
visit. pastel coloured walls and
a huge logo of a cone hanging
on the roof top.it was surprising that no one
was inside, prior to a school
hour.bin opens the door,
allowing her to enter
first. they are greeted
with a familiar scent."bin and hyunhee!
what are you rascals
doing here on a school hour?"
says jin, the owner
of the shop."we cut class to have
ice cream. so you better
make them good."
says bin jokingly,
earning a laugh from jin."two scoops of vanilla and
cookies and cream coming up!"
jin exclaims.hyunhee got her wallet out,
but bin had beat her to pay."a girl shall never
pay during a date."
bin says."date?"
questions hyunhee."why not?"
says bin.hyunhee smiles at him
and feels heat creep up
her cheeks.if only you knew.
bin thought.
