When I woke up and looked around the room, it was empty. Tanner must have gone home huh? I thought to myself, suddenly feeling a sense of disappointment.

Obviously he had to go home anyway.  Who would wanna stay here? I bet it was tiring to stay here all night and watch someone sleep. I wouldn't at least. But... Argh I'm being way too selfish. Let that guy live his life!

Just then, the door opened and Tanner stood there, hair perfectly tousled, wearing the exact same outfit he had on yesterday.

"Hey Kath you up?" He smiles as he walks in with two paper cups and set them on the table beside me.

"Nope I'm down," I reply.

He chuckles, "Very funny Kath. Ha ha."

"Well you laughed,"

"Whatever. So how are you feeling?" He asks as he takes a seat on the hospital bed I'm in.

"Much better. Just a little light headed." I reply, sitting myself up. He nods.

"So... Where's mom and dad..." I ask and he looks at me, once again, deep in thought, but I can easily read his expression. Should I tell her or not? Is what he was thinking. I wouldn't blame him if he didn't tell me, especially after what happened yesterday, he would still think I might suddenly rage or something.

"It's okay," I reassured him and he smiles at me with a hint of nervousness.

"They drove you here after you blacked out. They were worried sick for you. Then..." He hesitates.

"Go on,"

"Uh... I told them about how hard you've been trying to get them back together but then it didn't work so you were really stressed out with everything and started to skip meals..." He trailed off, looking at me like he expects me to hit him for saying that. I almost did, I didn't need my parents pitying me right now. But when I didn't, he continued "but then they went home after knowing you're alright and they told me they had some things to settle."

Honestly I don't mind that he told them what happened. I mean, if they were willing to settle things between them after that, they've got my support. Maybe skipping meals wasn't such a bad thing after all.

"That's great Tann. Thanks. For always being here for me." I say, pulling him towards me for a hug.

"Hey, anything for my darling," he smirks into the side of my head, wrapping his arms around me.

"Oh my god. Stop that already!" I say, hitting his back with my fist.

"You know I love you Kath," he replies, laughing.

"Well I don't," I reply too, laughing.

"Okay, but don't lie to yourself darling." He whispers before kissing me on the forehead. He does that a lot recently and it's scary how it makes my heart beat ten times faster every time.

After a while, the doctor came to check on my condition and I was well enough to be discharged from the hospital.

~ Tanner's POV ~

Reaching the doorstep of her house, Kathleen turns to face me, a nervous expression plastered her face.

"It's alright Kath, come on, just go in." I reassured her. She had told me how she really hoped that they had patched things up after I told her they agreed to settle some things between them. I was too, hoping for her.
