A Girl With No Name

Chapter 2

Days later

I look up, there is a knock on the door. "Come in" and a head pops in. "Dean your back, nice to see you again". I see he has a bag in his hands as he walks closer to me he slides the table over to my bed, and puts the bag on the table.

Dean smiles at me. "Brought something for you, I hope you like it". I bit my lip, wondering what he has. "Dean this smells good. What did you bring? My mouth starts watering and I hear my stomach growl.

He looks at me and smiles and blushes. He grabbed a napkin that he had brought from home. I watched him as he unfolds the napkin, and he lied it down on my lap. He is so nice to me, and sweet.

"I have some food for us that I made before coming here, I hope you don't mind having dinner with me"? He said as he rubbed the back of his neck. I got excited and straighten up, feeling happy. "I love the idea of having dinner with you".

Then he pulls out a container of food, this one is for you, and he pulls the next container out for himself. I slide over in my bed to make room to sit by me on the other end of the table. He opens my container of food, it's Mashed potatoes,& gravy, fried chicken, with a dinner roll. We both start eating, and I very much enjoyed the food. "Dean this food is amazing, you really need to teach the hospital how to cook". I said giggling

I look up at him and see he is staring at me. He sees that I'm looking at him and he turns red as I do also. Our eyes lock and we couldn't pull away. When we do Dean rubs the back of his neck. I bit my lower lip. I felt like time has stopped and my heart was going to jump out of my chest.

"I got something else for us, he says as he pulls another container out of the bag. This smell is really good. He uncovers the container and there lies a brownie. Then he pulls out another container but this one didn't have a smell really, and it looked cold. "I hope you like this" he said as he puts a scoop of ice cream on top of the brownie.

He handed me a spoon, and we both shared the brownie. "This is the best thing I have ever eaten, this day is the best day that I can remember. I don't want to ever forget it".

Dean cleaned off the table, I wanted to help but he wouldn't let me. "I have one more surprise and it's the last surprise." He grabbed a different bag which I don't remember him bringing when he came into the room. He hands it to me. "Its not something you can eat". He says as he smiles with a really cute look on his face.

I open up the bag and pulled something really soft out. It was a brown teddy bear, I pulled the next thing out which was softer than the teddy bear, and it was a blue blanket with silver on it. "I love them Dean". I said really excitedly and hug Dean.

"Want to play a game of cards, before I go to work"? "Yeah, just so you can see me win again". I laugh at him, and bit my lip. I see he is staring at me. I feel my cheeks warm up. He grabs the deck of cards, and starts shuffling them. He has showed me how to play war, gold fish, and how to shuffle. "What you want to play"? "War please".

I slapped my hand on the cards and his on top of mine. "I win" I yelled. "Oh no you didn't you can't win every time". Dean said with a sad voice and puppy look. I slapped my other hand on top of his hand. "See I win". "No" he whined as he puts his other hand on mine. "Fine beautiful girl should always win". He was just as surprised as I was at what he said. "Thank you" I say shyly biting my lips staring into his eyes.

"Do you want to watch a movie with me sometime, when your not working? I get lonely by myself, and you're the best person to watch a movie with". "Yeah, I would love too. How about after I'm done working, before I head home"? "Really, Yeah, I want too, I can't wait". We both sit there with this smile on our faces that I don't understand, and a feeling in my belly of trapped fluttering butterflies.

Then it was time for him to go to work, I felt a little sad that he had to go, but I knew he would be back and not far away. He leans down and gives me a hug, he smells so good. "I will be back to check on you in a little while, till then I will be thinking about you". Oh My Gosh he is so sweet. "I can't wait to see you, and I will be thinking about you also."

I tried reading to pass the time even watching television, nothing could get my mind off from Dean. Hours later I lied down tried to go to sleep, with my blanket that Dean got me over me, and my teddy bear wrapped with a deep hug. I finally felt my eyes get heavy, and I feel asleep.

Dean POV
I looked in on my favorite patient and see that she was asleep, with her new blanket and teddy bear. Gosh she is so cute sleeping, or not sleeping. I stand there in the doorway, watching her sleep. I went back to work still thinking about her. During my break while eating I checked to see what movies are on when I get out of work. Something that would make her laugh, I would love to hear her laugh. I find Daddy Daycare a good movie for us to watch, I hope she like it.

I went back to work and it just seemed like time was going by really slow, I even think I seen a snail pass me up in a flash. I go back to check on my favorite patient, she is awake. "Hey Cookie do you need anything"? "Can I get something to drink please, something fruity, oh wait no, some hot cocoa, I love hot cocoa". "Yes, Ma'am, I will be right back with it". I went to get her some hot cocoa and I seen some mini marshmallows.

I get back to her give her, her hot coco. "Here is your Hot cocoa". I smile at her and just look into her brown eyes, the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. "Thank you Dean" she says as she bits on her lips, which I wish I could kiss that lip that she is bruising. I rub my hand though my hair to my neck and rub my neck, I don't even notice I'm doing it. She looks into her cup as she goes to take a drink, and sees the marshmallows. "What are the little white things in my hot cocoa"? "They are marshmallows, I hope you like them. Is there anything else you need before I leave"? I really was hoping she said yes, but she didn't and I moved on to my next patient.

After my shift was over with I grabbed 2 cups of hot cocoa, and some fruit, and some doughnuts. Then I headed down the hall to spend the morning with the girl of my dreams. I'm smiling, and whistling, I don't notice what I was doing, but I do notice the look on the nurses as I walk by. What is up with them, I think to myself.

I juggle the stuff in my hands and now I am able to hear a soft and sweet voice, its almost like hear birds in the morning when you first wake up. It's a very pleasant sound. "Come in"

I walk in straight to the table to unload everything I have. "Dean you really got your hands full this morning". "Well I didn't know what you would feel like having this morning while we watched our movie, and breakfast won't be here for a little".

"I hope you don't mind, but I have found a movie for us to watch, I hope you like it. It's a funny movie, its called Daddy Daycare. Its about some dads who get together and start their own daycare. It should be starting soon".

I watch her head towards the bed and get comfortable, I pull the table closer to her and then I get comfortable in the chair. I notice she is looking at me, I turn to face her. She pats the bed beside her. "Come and sit with me and get comfortable". "Its ok I'm comfortable in the chair". Then she hugs her teddy bear, and gives me a puppy dog look. "Are you sure"? "Yeah, It would be nice".

So I got up and got comfortable next to her on the bed. She smells amazing, I hope I don't forget this moment for the rest of my life.

Back to the patients POV

"I'm really enjoying the movie you picked out, and everything else you have done for me". I say to Dean and then I turn to face him and here he is sleeping. I giggle into my blanket. I stop watching the movie I don't know how long ago, so I could watch him sleep. I lye my hand on top of his and I see him smile, then I let out a breath and smile also.

If this is a dream please don't wake me up.
