"So you fight monsters? Every day?" Ron and Harry were firing question after question at the demigods while they headed to Dumbledore's office.
"Not every day, but nearly. See, Percy, Nico, and I are children of supposedly the three most powerful gods— Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. So we give off a stronger scent which attracts more monsters. Luckily Camp Half-Blood and Hogwarts have magic barriers around them which prevent monsters from getting in. Occasionally a strong one breaks through, but other than that, we're good." Thalia explained.
"Camp Half-Blood, huh?" Harry shook his head. "That place sounds awesome."
"What are quests like?" Ron asked.
"We usually get a prophecy from our Oracle, which guides us. My first quest was with Annabeth and Grover, our friend. How did it go again, Annabeth?" Percy looked to his girlfriend for answers. Like always.
"You shall go west, and face the god who has turned, You shall find what was stolen, and see it safely returned, You shall be betrayed by one who calls you a friend, And you shall fail to save what matters most, in the end," Annabeth recited immediately.
"Cheery." Harry said sarcastically. Percy laughed.
"Our quest went something like this: We took a bus West, got attacked by grandmas which turned out to be servants of Hades, escaped only to get trapped in Medusa's lair at a garden gnome emporium, slayed Medusa, took a bus to the Gateway arch, exploded the Arch, went to Denver, met Ares, the god of war there, went on a mini quest to the Waterland theme park, took an animal truck to Las Vegas, got stuck in a hotel that freezes time so you never want to leave, left, went to to the ocean, got magic pearls, took a taxi to the entrance of the Underworld, got trapped and almost killed by a mattress shop owner, went to the Underworld, almost got dragged into the Pit, met Hades, annoyed Hades, escaped Hades, fought Ares, and returned Zeus' master bolt and Hades' helm of darkness to said gods, eventually returning in victory," Annabeth summarized.
"Wow," was all Ron could say.
"Hey! Don't forget the entire time, I was being framed for stealing the bolt and the helm, my mother was held captive in the underworld, and I was the one who killed Medusa, exploded the arch, got the pearls, saved you and Grover from the mattress shop, fought Ares, and returned the items!" Percy protested.
"Wow." Harry stared in awe. "You did all that?"
Percy shrugged. "More or less."
"Our next quest—"
"How many did you go on?" Ron interrupted , dumbfounded. Percy frowned and counted silently.
"Uh, we'll tell you about six of them, I guess. Including the one we just said."
"Okay, so the quest in the Sea of Monsters. It was me and Annabeth and my brother Tyson. Tyson's a cyclops. I'll try to shorten it this time. Basically, Annabeth, Tyson and I snuck out on a quest because Clarisse got the quest but we had to go so we snuck out. Anyways, we stowed away on a cruise ship, found out the cruise ship was evil, escaped, ran into a hydra, killed the hydra with help of Clarisse, sail to the Sea of Monsters, aka the Bermuda Triangle, explode the boat, lose Tyson, wash up on an island resort run by a sorceress, I get turned into a guinea pig, I get turned back, we escape on Blackbeard's pirate ship, run into some Sirens, sail to the island of Prometheus, find a kidnapped Grover and Clarisse, retrieve the Golden Fleece, send the Fleece ahead with Clarisse, run into the evil cruise again, and escape on Party Ponies. Oh, we found Tyson again too," Percy said in one breath.
"What the heck is a Party Pony?" Harry spluttered.
"And a cyclops?" Ron added.
