Chapter 37 - LAST CHAPTER

We are back in New Jersey now and it's Katie's birthday. I'm so excited we are planing a surprise BBQ for her and Lisa said we can have it in her back garden.
I have actually not long got Katie back, it took me a few months but I finally proved to them I was capable. Sketch and Cameron got sent down for life as they were wanted criminals in four country's. I'm so glad they are out our lives. Harry got a year and a half, but he was able to see his son before he went to prison. I have actually invited Jessica to the BBQ, we have been getting close recently and she is actually a really nice girl. She just had a rough life. Me and Aliayia haven't really spoken to Debbie again, last we heard she had a new partner and living in Brazil, obviously her daughters weren't good enough to fight for.

Everything was nearly done and I ran back to my house to get Katie. I run inside and go upstairs and knock on her door.

"Yeah?!" Katie yells from inside, I stop smiling and walk in with a annoyed look.

"Yo! Peanutbutter cup, have you done what I've asked you?" I said quite snarky. I have acted like I have forgotten her birthday and Katie being Katie believes I actually have forgotten.

"Yes I have done the washing" she replied equally snarky.

"Right come on, I have something else for you to do"

"What now!" she yelled.

"Don't shout just follow me and I will show you" I said and she huffed and followed me downstairs. When we were outside Aliayia quickly put a blindfold on Katie.

"What the hell is going on?" Katie said in a panic.

"Woah, calm down and let's go" I said smiling and Katie smiled. We guided her to the Dolans house, and I cannot contain my joy.

"What's going on?" Katie asked once we have reached the boys back garden. I take off her blindfold with everyone screaming SURPRISE!
"Oh my god!" Katie yelled.

"Happy birthday" I said quietly and she gave me a hug and then ran over to our grandparents that have flown over to see her. I can't believe how many people made it, Lisa and Sean, and then we have Christian and Riley with their mum and dad. Even Jessica made it. I walk around and thank them all for coming. I look around and I spot Ethan talking to Grayson. I stare at him for a while I still can't believe I'm going out with him.

"He's cute huh?" my thoughts get interrupted by Jessica. We both take a seat on the garden chairs and I kept looking to the ground.
"It's OK I'm over him" she said laughing a little.

"Really?" I asked looking up to her.

"Yeah...don't get me wrong when is fit is fuck, but it was my fault that me and him split but I'm kinda glad we did. We never really gelled"

"Gelled?"

"Yeah, he never looked at me the way he looks at you, we never really understood each other, we were too different, but you two......it's like you two are the same person"

"Some people might say thats a bad thing"

"Yeah maybe, but I don't think it is, in your case. You too are so in love" she said and I can't help but giggle. We laugh and talk for about 10 minutes when Katie came over and hugged me.

"Oh god don't kill me" I said laughing.

"Thank you so much" she said giggling.

"Oh here's your birthday present" I said pulling away and handing her an envelope. She looked at me confused and then she opened it. After a few seconds she let out an all mighty scream, everyone stopped talking and turned to face her.

"Holy shit! You got me One Direction tickets!" She squealed and I burst into laughter.

"Oi enough of that language" I said standing up.

"Oh my god thank you, thank you" she said hugging me tight again. I decided to join the police force and I started a couple of months ago, I'm really enjoying it and the wage is insane. I was able to pay most of Ethans money back and I got those tickets for Katie.

It's been a few hours and I haven't spoken to Ethan all day, I've been too busy with everything else. I will talk to him after the birthday cake. Aliayia brings out the cake while I'm standing on the pourch leaning against the barrier.

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Katie, happy birthday to you.

Once we have finished singing she blows out her candles and they start to cut up the cake. I sit and watch her smiling and laughing when I feel someone stand beside me. I stand up straight not taking my eyes off Katie.

"You been avoiding me fan girl?" Ethan said in his cocky voice.

"Shut up" I said nudging him in his ribs.

"What's up?" he said and I stare at him with a huge smile.

"Nothing it's just.....I'm happy" I said and I give him a peck on his lips.

"I'm glad.....oh my god" he said with his eyes widen.

"What? What's wrong?" I said a little worried.

"Your not blushing" he smirked, so I punch his shoulder.

"Why do you always have to be a prat" I said laughing and turning back around and facing Katie who is smiling and dancing to the music that's playing. Ethan wraps his arm around my waist and leans in my ear.

"I love you so much" he whispers.

"I love you too" I whisper back. Katie comes running over to me.

"Best birthday ever!" she shouts and then continues to dance. I walk to the garden with my hand in Ethans and we talk to everyone.

All my life I struggled to fit in, I was bullied at school, I sold drugs when I was ment to be a teenager. I grew up too fast. But right here and right now I feel that I belong.
I look around the garden, and admiring all the people I love most in the world and I can't believe I made it here alive.

I'm free!
